22/V/15 - 33cl bottle @ Brazilian Tasting (home) - BB: 23/II/17 (2015-662) Thanks to 77ships for sharing the bottle!

Little cloudy blond beer, aery irregular white head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: sulphur, sewer, bit fruity, some peach, yeast, bit sugary, banana. MF: lots of carbon, medium body. Taste: bit yeasty, very bitter, spicy touch, yeast again, fruity, floral. Aftertaste: bitter, some citrus, grassy, yeasty touch, pretty dry, grapefruit.

330 ml. bottle @ Agora. It has been since forever since I have been there, 5 years ago maybe more. A hoppy new beer made by a new very promising commission brewery, commissioned by the University of Antwerp. Very interesting stuff. It is sold at a nice price for a bar. BBF 23/02/2017. Poured into a University of Antwerp glass. Very light hazy sparkling golden, small typical, egg-white head. Not too far removed from most people’s idea of beer. Nose is quite floral, nicely hoppy, bitter grass, very dry, reminds me even a bit of Taras Boulba, nice. Taste is very dry bitter grass, floral, light plaster & chalk, there is light milky yeast but luckily it is way in the back & it is very dry, faint yoghurt, faintly grainy,… Very dry. Very inviting, easy to drink. This seems like the perfect beer that might appeal equally to fans of macro pale lager & worshipers of Taras Boulba. There are limits what it can offer due to its accessibility but this is excellent as beer that is accessible for pretty much everyone. I read that the University gives these away as business gifts, this is nothing to be ashamed of.

Intensiv süß malziger Antrunk, Kaffee. Die Süße ist zu stark, wenig Schokolade. Noch halbwegs rund. 12/9/8/9//9

33 cl bottle. Pours hazy brown with a dmall tan head. Aroma is roasted malty and light spiced. Sweet, toasted malty and caramelish. Toasted malty. Overripe fruity, light spiced. Dry and slight herbal. Bitter and dry finish.

Bottle at home, dark brown/black beer with a medium head, aroma is malt and some chocolate. Taste is some malts, liquorice, fruit. Very nice.

Bouteille 33cl, BB 29/09/2016. Brune foncée, col épais crémeux café au lait. Arôme est léger et malté, au bouquet très belge. Le tout sur un fruité modéré de quad avec des relents de fruits noirs. Petite note épicée rappelant l’anisé le tout sur une légère rondeur de sucre candi. Palais est malté, grains, grillé avec un profil restant également assez belge sur l’orientation de la levure. Note un agréable côté épicé de levure mais également de réglisse. Le tout est légèrement collant aux lèvres avec un rappel de sucre candi et malt crystal. Un léger fruité noir semble également présent mais moindre que sur d’autres versions quad belges. Le profil des houblons perce en toute fin de bouche apportant une amertume qui reste cependant discrète. Solide sans vraiment changer le paysage des quads belges.

33 cl bottle @ Gastropub Tuulensuu. Aroma has spices, roasty malty tones and raisins. Also licorice tones. Flavour has strong licorice root tones , some candy sugar and spices. Also herbal tones and hints of ash. Quite stout-like for a quad - and lacks the sweetness typical to the style.

Sampled @ O.B.E.R. Kerstbierfestival 2014, Essen. Sehr dunkelbraunes, fast schwarzes Bier mit geringer beiger Schaumkrone. Geruch sehr malzig, reifes Obst, Karamell, alkoholisch. Geschmack röstmalzig, süß, reifes Obst, leicht alkoholisch.
