Description
Deeside Brewery is an independent craft beer producer based in Scotland’s crowning jewel – stunning Royal Deeside. We have been brewing since 2006 with a range of small batch hand crafted ales and lagers.

Deeside Brewery uses filtered spring water sourced from the River Dee, which starts 4000ft above seawater in the mountain ranges of the Cairngorms.

Our small team was enhanced in 2016 when we were joined by the founders of Loch Ness Brewery, Stephen Crossland and George Wotherspoon. This has brought us a new range of skills and experiences allowing us to develop our products further for the UK and Overseas markets with a focus on delivering consistently high beer quality as we continue to innovate and create new beers.

Bottle from Dunnottar Wines. It pours clear amber with a decent beige head. The nose is soft, fruity, orange, tangerine and caramelized grain. The taste is crisp, bitter-sweet, toasty grain, orange, grapefruit rind, straw and a touch of pepper with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Easy-going, but far from a game-changer. Alright.

Keg at the Rake. It pours clear reddish-brown with a small beieg head. The nose is bitter-sweet, spicy, fruit cake, raisin, toffee and fig pudding. The taste is crisp, spicy, caramel, brown bread, toffee, light metallic twang, earth and old leather armchair with a drying finish. Medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. Not a whole lot of depth to it. OK....but no game changer.

A perfectly drinkable if slightly average lager. There’s really not much to note about it. It’s mellow which marks it ahead of many of the mass produced lagers.

Many thanks to Sean for this bottle! Very smooth and intense beginning. Creamy, easy to drink but still deep. Smooth and soft with a great chocolate bitterness. The aftertaste is smooth, milk chocolate, fresh and easy to drink! Great!!

Keg (5.2% ABV) and bottle (5.7% ABV). Clear amber body with a medium off-white head. Steady carbonation. Good lacing. Aroma of marmalade and grapefruit zest. Flavour of tinned orange, steel and lemon. Thin body with a watery, slightly oily mouthfeel. Soft fizz. Fruity and sharp.
