Very dark brown coloured body with a very fast-dying, thin, single centimetre tall off-white and perhaps even tan head with about an 75 per cent opacity to the body. Aroma of roasted malt, raisins, figs, earth, grain, lactose, light coffee skins (cascara) with some caramelised sugars and cream noticeable as well with some potency and deep alcohol notes as well. Medium-bodied; Strong rich malt notes dominate with some licorice, a lot of brown and caramelised sugars, a touch of alcohol and astringency and ending with an anise, pitted fruit and strong briney and umami (but luckily not soy sauced or Worcestershire sauce) notes that definitely come from the oysters. Aftertaste is very rich with a fairly pungent caramelised sugar and sweet component with some lactose, grain, earth, nuts and especially the spiced notes that show the brine, rich strong flavours of oysters and finish with some lighter vanilla and icing sugar components to make this a touch more complex. Overall, a very nice stout that hits all the right notes, especially for the style, but in terms of spices, malts, sugars and complexities - this one is a good option and the body is great, even for drinking on a hot summer day, like I did! I sampled this twelve ounce can, purchased from Total Wine in Towson, Maryland on 27-May-2019 for US$2,99 sampled at my house here in Washington just over fourteen months later on 12-August-2020.

330ml bottle, via djoeye, shared with Finn. Near-clear reddish-brown body, remaining beige head leaving rings of lace down the glass. Rather sweet jam-like fruits on the nose. Mid-sweet caramel fruity flavours. Distant bittersweet fruity finish. Satisfying. (Tromsø 14.10.2019).
