Bottle, 14C. Bright copper with a fat coat of off white head. Aroma of toast, singed sugar, apricots, grass, vanilla, pepper, orange peel. Whilst you can tell it’s strong, not overly boozy. Getting towards syrupy in texture, lowish carbonation that’s about right for me. Sweet with dried peach and mango, toasted malt, bitter oranges, spices. Bitterness is strong and comes in early. Long bitter finish with surprisingly delicate citrus, tropical and spicy notes lingering. Powerful and mostly straightforward with some involving touches. Doubt it will age well, but lovely now.

On draft at the Australian Hotel in Sydney. Pours a clear pale amber with an off white head. Toasty notes in the nose. Flavors of toasted nuts with some fruity and honey notes. Smooth, slightly bitter finish.

From a 33 cl bottle in Sydney. Pours a clear copper with an off white head. Light malty nose. Floars of biscuit and orange. Clean, crisp finish.

Bottled, from random bottle store in Melbourne, Victoria. Clear bronze colour, small head.Fruity dusty nose with faint grapefruit. Sweetish with clean, hard mouthfeel and medium body. Metal, dust, ripe fruit. Shallow and industrial. Marginally better than VB.

Tap, very cold at the Brisbane Marriott. Amber with a thin beige head. Malty aroma with toffee, weeds, some struggling spices. Brighter tastes is certainly sweet and dully caramellish, but spicy hops break through a bit more than expected. Sound but dull.

Draught at Matilda Bay Brewery, Port Melbourne, Melbourne, on July 31, 2013.Also said "AC3 India Red Ale".Clear copper to brown color, tan head. Sweet, bitter, herbal, resin taste. Resin aftertaste. Medium to fizzy mouthfeel, medium mbitterness. Warming alcohol. Sweet, malty, alcohol scent.Didn’t get any smoked notes, though didn’t look for it either.
