Tap at the Birmingham Hotel, Melbourne. Poured a crystal clear straw colour with a thin white head. The aroma is grainy malt, light woody hop. The flavour is moderate to light bitter with a light, watery, skunky malt, light dry floral hop bitter palate and a lingering somewhat unpleasant bitter finish. Medium to light bodied with average carbonation. Not the most pleasant drinking experience I’ve had and one that I won’t repeat any time ever! The lingering bitterness in the finish simply prolonged the agony.

Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up at a Mare Street offie. Pours clear orange-gold with a frothy, white head. The nose has simple malts, caramel, vague pine, ripe citrus. Medium sweet flavour with ample gooey citrus, crackers, orange, lightly aged pine. Light bodied with average carbonation. Finishes with more basic bready pale malts, honey, ripe citrus, faint piney bitterness. Real entry-level stuff.

330ml bottle. Hazy copper with a foamy white head. Sweet toffee with a bitter hoppy finish. Not bad

(Bottle) Pours clear pale Amber with very little head. Subtle fairly pleasant aroma - grass with pineapple me citrus hints. Light bodied with coarse fizzy carbonation. Odd taste profile. Starts with some basic maltiness and peppery and citrus notes, but this all falls away quickly through a slightly tart mid palate to a sad watery finish. Drinkable, but not good.

345ml bottle into schooner glass. Sweet malty apple nose. Golden amber cider with fluffy white head which stays. Highly carbonated. Full-bodied and tangy, not too sweet. Finish is slighly sour with a touch of sherbet. Not bad.

345ml bottle into schooner glass. Fresh fruity nose, some bready notes, a hint of malt. Amber beer with thin white head, laces well. Steady light carbonation. Quite sharp carbonation in the mouth. Super easy drinking with no real taste and a weak fruit cordial finish. Inoffensive and forgettable.

(Bottle from BWS Broadbeach) Pours clear medium gold with a small white head and no lace. Aroma is light malty notes with a touch of sweetness and grain, and some vague grassy hop character. Flavour is basically somewhat sweet pale/pils malt, a hint of fruit, almost adjunct type graininess and a little grassy herbal bitterness. Rather watery. Lightish body, above average carb. Basically like a macro lager thing, nothing redeeming about it. Calling it a pale ale and charging over $4 for it is a joke. Bleh.
