Bottle from Späti. Clear golden, lowish white head. Perfumed hop aroma, citrus, light pine, mint. Medium light body, more mellow than spritzy. Lightly old fashioned IPL sensibility, a hint resin stickiness, pleasant enough.

Bottle from a Späti. Clear golden, white head, fine carbonation. Clean, but fairly anonymous base profile, a bit grain, light grassy hops, a bit chewiness. Even the most macro of the Bavarian macrobrewers have more character.

On tap at Altes Mädchen. Pours blonde with a slight haze and a white head. Dry grass and cracker malts on the nose, slightly peppery. Flavour has dry peppery grass, stale cracker malts, dry finish. Good carbonation. Nose and palate both have a vegetal character, which detracts from both.

On tap at Altes Mädchen Ratsherrn Braugasthaus Hamburg. Pours clear blonde with a white head. Semi-dry Hefe yeast on the nose. Flavour has dry Hefe yeast, banana and cloves, some herbal grass. Full-bodied. Not usually a fan of this yeast, but this is clean and drinkable, very good.
