Pour quite a dark amber/earthy copper, with a big, long-lasting head.Aroma contain lots of fruity hops (classic citrus notes with some tropical hints) and a fair bit of resin and pine. Lots of clean sweet malt underneath and a hint of diacetyl brings you back to English territory.Flavours are a mix of sweet caramel malt, earthy and spicy hops and a mild hoppy bitterness that lingers all around the mouth.Slightly too much carbonation.Great aroma, but there’s some off-putting characteristic in the lingering bitterness that detracts from the overall experience.

Continuously frothing inch high snow-white head. Slightly cloudy butterscotch/toffee hue.Big weet-bix malt nose, with strong resin and fresh, green, spicy hop notes.Appetizing hoppy bitterness with noticeable resinous sweetness. Very clean crisp malty taste reminiscent of walnuts.Massive tang from lively carbonation.Overall a good mix of bitter and sweet, with a nice aroma of hops and malt. Too much carbonation in my opinion, but really, a good example of the style.

Bottled at RBESG after session. Very black, minimal head.Strong licorice aroma. Medium sweet and very roasty with near full body. Tarry licorice dominate chocolate. Salty finish.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy yellow amber with very little white head. The aroma is superb and complex: malty, spicy, esters, almost a grassy hoppiness and vanilla. The body is full and creamy, enhanced by the carbonation which is signficant, but not fizzy, giving a superb feel. The flavour is again full and complex and excellent. There is rich, somewhat sweet malt and a little caramel, beautifully balanced by some tangy fruity flavours and spicy and floral hoppy notes. (The fruitiness seemed more bitter orange than apricots to me.) The finish is crisp with just the right bitterness and some rich lingering tastes. A truly excellent beer.

Bottled. Clear nut brown. Flowey nose. Sweet and soapy with medium boody and notes of molasses. I found the malt profile to be bold and simplistic, and there was not much hops to cover it up.
