In 2014, Sam Richardson, Matt Monahan and Andrew Burman founded Other Half Brewing Company, a local brewery in New York City with a simple mission: to create beers that they wanted to drink from a company that they wanted to be a part of. Their vision was to build a passionate team that brewed great beers in the state of New York—done so with effort and thoughtfulness—to represent the “Other Half” of the industry. Today, Other Half craft beers in their Brooklyn brewery and are dedicated to collaborating with breweries both in New York as well as across the world in an effort to constantly move the industry forward while elevating the craft. The Other Half team believes that local breweries play an important role in their communities which is why they partner with these other likeminded brewers and brands in local nabes across the country and the world—but always return to their home state of New York and their Brooklyn taproom.

PLEASE NOTE: As of 2023, Other Half no longer markets beers as "Double Dry Hopped". Instead, the DDH version is now listed as just the beer name, and the non-DDH version has been retired.

When entering a beer, please enter "Hop Showers" instead of "DDH Hop Showers" or "Hop Showers - DDH".

4oz at the brewery pours a clear copper with a ring of white head. Nose is mild, gristy, soap, some orange, a little buttery. Flavor is buttered biscuit, orange, lavendar soap, yeast, perfume. Spritzy finish. Not sure what to think.

Forever Green (Non-DDH) from Other Half Brewing

On tap at the brewery pours a clear gold with a ring of white head. Nose is zippy with chive and lemon, a little grapefruit zest, soap, pine. Flavor has a punch of citrus that is more kumquat than grapefruit, soap, herbs, a dry grist character. Finishes very bitter.

Tap at the Jeffrey free with sandwich. Deep dark pour rather thin beige head. Nose is milky chocolate and light molasses. Tastes of lactose milky chocolate, coffee grind, soy sauce, hints of pine and molasses. Creamy and light palate. Touch of hop bitterness.

Draught @ Craft beer co. Covent Garden. A bit hazy dark orange color, average to medium sized white to off-white head. Aroma is malts, hops, resin, pine. Taste malts, hops, pine, resin, bitter. Pure bitter Espinoza and piney hop juice with a firm alcohol shot. Medium to full body, medium carbonation. Lovely, delicious.

Tap at Draught 55. Light yellow pour white sudsy head. Nose is herbal and grassy. Tastes of fresh grass, herbal, spearmint, lemons, not getting much malt backbone. Light bodied and slightly harsh palate. Anyways different little beer.

A deep dark stout with a thick frothy creamy brown head. In aroma, sweet chocolate malt with light chalky character, light coffee grind, light soy notes, nice. In mouth, a nice sweet chocolate with coffee grind, nice vanilla notes, grassy hops, soy sauce, very nice. On tap at Ginger Man NYC.

Bottle split at LKS 15K Tasting, big thanks to LKS, 02/11/15. Extremely dark mahogany brown topped with a decent beige swirl. Nose is funky, sweet and sour fruit, treacle toffee, straw, subtle brett. Taste comprises liquorice, spice, subtle red wine barrel, funk, light brett, toffee, earthy fruit tang. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent enough BA saison.

Thank you for sharing! Can sampled @ "De grote Black Tuesday Tasting". Very hazy orange, little white head. Nose is dank orange, huge yeast, hay. Taste is huge orange, big yeast, lightly sweet, touch sugar, white bread, some hop, grapefruit. Sugary & yeasty body. Decent overall, okay beer.
