Description
The Brasserie OC’ALE was born in 1998, in Lafrançaise, in Tarn-et-Garonne. Founded by Jackie Courmont, it has gone through the years to enrich itself with new beers over time.

Grégory Robert, an engineer by training, converted to the brewing profession in 2011. After being trained for 6 years by his predecessor, he took over the brewery in 2018.

Grégory made his project a reality. He wanted to both work in continuity, but also to bring new ideas by developing in particular a new range of beers in 33cl. He has equipped himself with new machines that allow him to cap the bottles.

Since 2019 the brewery is in Bressols where he continues to perpetuate this culinary heritage of Tarn-et-Garonne, while adapting certain original recipes to consumer demands. He wants to develop the range soon with new products...

Muddy straw coloured beer with a disappearing white head. Strong spicy aroma, I’m thinking cardemum. Acid attack, tastes like lemon juice with spice.

Muddy dark brown with a lasting light brown head. Perfumed chocolate aroma. Sour roasted flavour that is very strange and very interesting. But unintended...

50 cL bottle@fonefan/Brugmansia’s Cnudde tasting. Pours murky yellow with a fully gone head. Dry woody and towards a citric note. Dry acidic flavour with a mild wheat note. Light citrus and orange peel flavoured. Mild spice note in addition. Ends a bit more smooth than the initial acidic flavour.

(Bottle at Sous-Bock, Paris, 16 Oct) Golden yellow colour with small white head. Milky sediment on the bottom making it rather hazy. Fruity nose with citrussy notes of orange, mandarin and spices (clove). Fruity taste with mandarin, apricots and a soft wheat character. Very lively, lots of carbonation. The sediment at the bottom actually enhances the flavour, making it slightly creamy. A good attempt at a beer style that isn’t really my favourite style.

Draught Fully hazy straw-yellow beer with a small white, dense head, leaving some lace. Coriander, bubble gum, fruity nose. Coriander, sweet-sour wheat, hyper-classical. Light to medium bodied, wheat slickness. Technically OK, but still terribly boring wit.

Draught Brown-black, nearly no head (yellow-ringed). Lactic acid, wood, a bit of caramel and thyme, licorice. Sourish, lactic acid, yoghurt, infected, stout-like malts, just a little bit of licorice. A bit of sourburn, well bodied. I’ve had the Noire uninfected before, and then it’s even better. A pity, and still, it isn’t half bad.

[At Fete de la Biere 2004, Lausanne] A black beer with no head. The aroma is very nice with roasted notes. The flavor is sweet of coffee and roasted malt, but one-dimensional and too sweet for my liking.
