Description
The Brasserie OC’ALE was born in 1998, in Lafrançaise, in Tarn-et-Garonne. Founded by Jackie Courmont, it has gone through the years to enrich itself with new beers over time.

Grégory Robert, an engineer by training, converted to the brewing profession in 2011. After being trained for 6 years by his predecessor, he took over the brewery in 2018.

Grégory made his project a reality. He wanted to both work in continuity, but also to bring new ideas by developing in particular a new range of beers in 33cl. He has equipped himself with new machines that allow him to cap the bottles.

Since 2019 the brewery is in Bressols where he continues to perpetuate this culinary heritage of Tarn-et-Garonne, while adapting certain original recipes to consumer demands. He wants to develop the range soon with new products...

Hazy pale gold beer. No real head. Nice saison like nose with a little orange. Crisp palate, semi dry. Pleasantly sour orange and lemon. Sour enough to be interesting but not puckery. Orange dominates the lemon but the lemon does bite. Finishes dry and crisp. Light and very refreshing.

Opaque black beer. Light semi dry palate. Eye twitching sour sherbet!?! Porter like dark malt underneath but the sourness dominates. At least it’s not lemon sour! Finishes crisp and malty sour. A refreshing minerally beer and unusually sour for a stout.

Cloudy gold beer. Semi soft but very dry palate. Sour wheaty malt with a little citrus but as it warms up a distinct soapy flavour emerges which makes it all but undrinkable. Also way overdry!

Milky white with big head, very good appearance for a wit. Aroma is soft citrus notes and a bit of tannin funk, a bit detergent-like but not excessively so. Taste is soft lemon and wheat with no cloyingness, a big plus for me and witbiers. Modestly dry finish with alcohol on the tongue. Pretty good for the style.

Very big head, nice golden body with just a touch of carbonation. Aroma of lemon, cider, malt. Taste is soft malt with just a hint of hops and a sharp carbonated finish. Decent.

Nice muddy brown body and a big beige head. Aroma of swamp plants, coriander, pine. Taste is a watery mix of coriander, flowery plants, and rose, orange zest hints. Very weak palate. Odd red beer and not to my tastes.

Pours with a slowly rising guinness-like head, beige in colour, black black body. Aroma of lacquered wood, varnish, barley. Taste is oak and a hint of hazelnut. Smooth mouthfeel, almost no carbonation. A very good stout.

A golden hazy blonde wit with a super thick frothy and lacing white head. In aroma, very nice saison like qualities, à la Fantôme, herbaceous, frankincense, epsom salts, quite nice. In aroma, a sweet malt with loads of coriander, some light malt sweetness, some nice bitterness, herbaceous. Bottle from la Cave à Bulles, May 2010, tasted with GRM, Probstk and Mike H., Oct. 8 2010.
