Bottle at Chriso Gaylord tasting 09. Dark brown. Thin beige head. Really pretty poor. Infected and sour. Not good. Bit of raisin, but not right.

Bottle at the Chriso Gaylord tasting 09. Black, lasting tan head. Choc and blackcurrant on aroma. Musty, oxidised, not huge choc anywhere. Just a bit maybe. Not very stouty, not very choccy. Some sourness.

250ml bottle. Black. Fizzes like Coke and leaves no head at all. Nose has dark chocolate and some apples. Fizzy mouthfeel (weird for an oatmeal stout). Powdery cocoa and coffee. Slightly tart apple juice/ coriander (leaf) finish. Poor.

Bottle, says organic on the label. Hazy gold, white head that didn’t last. Subdued esters - not that banana-y. Taste is citrusy and very spicy. Astringent and fizzy mouthfeel. Would be a good cheese beer.

Dark copper pour with a big creamy lasting head.Nose shows dark grapes, plums, chocolate, roasted grains, smoke, peanuts (???) and, unfortunately, some old cheese and Vegemite!Lots of sweet caramel upon tasting, along with some smoky, earthy peat and quite a strong tangy note, as found in green apples (acetaldehyde?).Carbonation is nice and creamy, but the body is on the watery side for such a malty beer.

Massively overcarbed, exploded all over the place.Very cloudy orange pour with absolutely massive head that took forever to calm down.Aroma of citrus, mainly grapefruit, orange and lemon sherbet, and fake lemon. Slight hints of clean malt underneath.Really weird taste... fake lemon, a bit tart, musty. Almost lambic-esque. Clean malt underneath, with some caramel.Good body and carbonation.

Bottled, thanks Fil. A pitch black beer with a huge brown head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, and roated malt. The flavor is sweet malty combined with notes of roasted malt, and alcohol, the latter leaving a burn on the tongue. The finish is dry, roasted, and alcoholic.

Pours dark copper, medium-sized tan head that quickly fades.Aroma is a heady concoction of brandy, roasted malts, plums, toast, treacle a nutmeg. Quite a mouthful! Or nose-full, I guess.Sweet/tangy/sour unripe plums provide a dominant flavour, which I really don’t remember from last time I had this? This is followed by some delicate roasted malt and finishes with some sweet cookie dough. Not what I expecting from a christmas ale, but very interesting and quite tasty! No bitterness whatsoever from hops or roasted malt.Mouthfeel is quite oily/slick. Good carbonation though.

Gusher.Murky mauve pour with voluminous pink rocky head that leaves reasonable lacing.First impression upon the nose is of white wine. Underneath is tart blackberries, bubblegum and plums.Taste is mostly of tart white wine. Every few sips a faint malt note comes through that reminds you that you’re actually drinking beer. Tangy blackberries, soap and white grapes also present.Highly carbonated, but it works well.More akin to a sparkling white wine than a wheat beer. Refreshing none the less.

Pours slightly hazy golden/amber (actually, it does look a bit like honey). Small head instantly fades to nothing... Enticing aroma of woody honey and grainy malt. Not so pleasant is the corn/cooked vegies, reminds of cheap adjunct lagers. Much more honey present on tasting, as well as sweet malt and a slight citrus tang, but again, cooked vegies come through. Quite lively, but watery, on the palate. Pretty good, as long as you don’t pay too much attention to it.
