Description
In the winter of 2016, the two Augsburgers, Enzo Frauenschuh and Matthias Gruber, founded FrauGruber Brewing (FRAUenschuh + GRUBER = FrauGruber) and brewed their first beers as Gipsy brewers in spring 2017 in the Old Factory in Gundelfingen. It quickly became clear that all the ideas, experiments and further developments would be very difficult to implement without an own brewery and the freedom that goes with it. In order to grow quantitatively and conceptually, FrauGruber had to grow. We managed to realize our dream of having our own brewery in January 2020. So we came to our goal of creating a kind of "way of life" and building a community with which we can share the enthusiasm and passion for beer. Our aim is to test and live the incredible variety of beer, to act sustainably and especially to give beer a higher value.

Draught at BKL München 2017.
Amber, hazy body, with a big, creamy, light yellow head.
Aroma of sweet bread, biscuit, sweet fruits, grains, some flowers.
Tastes of biscuit, bread, grains, hay, flowers, some sweet fruits.
Medium, a bit creamy mouthfeel, with an average carbonation.
Finishes smooth, a bit dry, bready, floral, slightly herbal.

Good. Smooth and well balanced, with enough sweet notes, but also a good dryness towards the finish. Solid, a bit modern take on the style, while not outstanding.

From can at BKL München 2017.
Amber, hazy body, with a big, creamy, yellowish head.
Aroma of peach, citrus, dankness, orange, some pine, slight biscuit.
Tastes quite similar, with a bit more biscuit.
Medium, oily mouthfeel, with an average carbonation.
Finishes bitter, medium dry, a bit sweet, fruity, slightly piney.

Very nice. Straight, fruity and well balanced. Drinks quite easy, with just the right level of malt body. Not my favourite one from this brewery, but a very solid style example.

Medium, slick mouthfeel, with a lively carbonation.

Very nice, crisp stuff. Loads of juicy fruits, with an enjoyably light, dry enough body. Outstanding, modern take on the style, that is incredibly quaffable.

Draught at BKL München 2017.
Amber, hazy body, with a big, creamy, lacing, slightly yellow head.
Juicy aroma of apricot, peach, guave, mango, passion fruit, pine, dankness, some honey.
Tastes quite similar, with more pine notes.
Medium, slick mouthfeel, with a lively carbonation.
Finishes juicy, moderate bitter, with lots of fruits again, some pine.

Tasty! Very juicy, balanced by distinctive pine notes and just the right level of sweetness. Drinks incredibly fresh. Outstanding style example, the first APA/IPA from Germany I’ve had that can compete with US examples. This brewery was a big surprise for me, one of my top highlights at BKL 2017!

Tap. Brown color with small soapy beige head. Aroma is coffee, lacto, black chocolate, some vanilla, very aromatic. Taste is chocolate, cold coffee, straightforward and dry. Fine-bubbled carbonation, silky mouthfeel. Very nice, but a tad too much cheap coffee in the flavour.
