Description
In the winter of 2016, the two Augsburgers, Enzo Frauenschuh and Matthias Gruber, founded FrauGruber Brewing (FRAUenschuh + GRUBER = FrauGruber) and brewed their first beers as Gipsy brewers in spring 2017 in the Old Factory in Gundelfingen. It quickly became clear that all the ideas, experiments and further developments would be very difficult to implement without an own brewery and the freedom that goes with it. In order to grow quantitatively and conceptually, FrauGruber had to grow. We managed to realize our dream of having our own brewery in January 2020. So we came to our goal of creating a kind of "way of life" and building a community with which we can share the enthusiasm and passion for beer. Our aim is to test and live the incredible variety of beer, to act sustainably and especially to give beer a higher value.

Can (10 days old) looks good. The beer - murky orange with floatees and an unstable head. Appearance would be a 2, but I give a 3 because of the can design... Aroma is intense passion fruit, lychee, other tropical fruits, cereal, nice. Taste is passion fruit, lychee, grassy, cereals, mineralic, pretty dank. Mineralic cereal mouthfeel with a hopburn that is of the pleasant kind. A bit of booze in the aftertaste. Wow, this is indeed very hopburny, but not the painful kind. This kinda works, though I generally prefer Bierol's character over FrauGruber's character - and this is definitely FrauGruber.Hopburn gets a bit painful after a couple of sips, and the aroma gets pretty bland after you've had a couple of sips. Not my kind of haze at this stage. This was a 3.8 (8-3-8-3-16) at first, but after more than 100ml this is more like a 7-3-6-2-12... And I feel like I have to give the worse score here, since the beer is sold in 440ml cans and I am trying to finish one of them, but it is physically painful.

Shared at a tasting, small creamy bubbly head, murky orange color with yellow hues, aroma of lightly dried apricot, flowers and wood with some onion in the back, flavor is a melange of juicy fruits with some onion, light pleasant sweetness, smooth bitterness. Very well made, very nicely balanced, very light and mellow for the style, excellent.
