22/10/2022. Can from Norfolk Island Liquor Bond Store, Burnt Pine, Norfolk Island. Drank from the can after a walk to the summit of Mt Pitt. Aroma is malty, grain, caramel, citrus, grass. Quite sweet initially, with metallic bitterness and a slight sour edge. Moderate body, extremely oily, average carbonation. Tart finish. Became quite unpleasant.

Older tasting notes from a trip to Australia a while ago. Golden, clear pour with only a small head. Aromas of malt and grain - similar tastes with some grains and a sweet fhish. Frefreshing, but nothing special.

Schooner on tap at Springfield Tavern, QLD. Pours a crystal clear amber with thin white head. Laces OK. Light carbonation. Nose of tin and rotten egg. Touch of light sherbet, tiny touch of bitterness then more lingering egg/sewer. Served very cold, this would be impossible to drink otherwise.

355ml bottle from National Brewery Centre in Burton - Flat yellow body, gentle fizz. XXXX was once a staple on the bars of the UK, haven't seen it on these shores for yonks, not surprising the bad rap it used to get. Nothing really in this to change my opinion from the kegmare it used to be. Dingo, koala, wallaby, possum, wombat, kangaroo, prawn, barbie, and g'day from Paul Hogan in Crocodile Dundee.
