Description
Craft is the first Greek microbrewery that started the microbrewing revolution back in 1997 by producing for the first time in Greece fresh limited production beers at premises accessible to the general public.

During our exciting learning journey throughout the years, we developed a profound knowledge of beer, raw materials, the trade secrets of brewing, and we developed several innovative and traditional recipes.

33cl Bottle on Syros, Greece, at the cinema. Clear reddish amber colour, off white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, lots of caramel. Flavour is sweet, malty, caramel, light nutty, nice hoppy bitter finish. Light to medium bodied. A bit of a one-trick pony, but nice enough.

Nice medium sweet flavour, notes of red berries and toffee, moderate hops. Se etter dette neste gang du er i Hellas eller på Kreta!

500ml bottle served comfortably chilled in a tall Craft glass at Fat Snail Café in Rethymno. Clear amber coloured body with a slowly fading, off-white head. Dotted spots on the glassware. Plain and mild smoked malts to the nose. Smooth taste of caramel malts on a subdued backbone of bacon. Semi-sweet to the ending. Pretty straightforward, but quite nice (Rethymno, Crete 12.08.2012).

Flaske 0,5l. Gave fra Rune. Drukket hjemme 20 Aug 12. Lys gylden. Bra skum som stabiliserer seg lavt. Søt fruktig aroma. Smaken er malt med innslag av frukt. Litt i søteste laget - men bra.

Flaske 0,33l. Gave fra Rune. Drukket hjemme 20 Aug 12. Gyldenbrun med et bra skum som varer og fester seg til glasset. God røykaroma. Lite kullsyre. Smaken er bare røyk med litt syrlighet i ettersmaken. Kjedelig.

September 2008: A Greek Hefeweizen, it had to be tried. Found in a bar while on the lovely Isle of Crete. Poured into the breweries glassware it looked the part. A huge head sat on top of a moody looking cloudy, creamy orange body of beer. The aromas were citrus fruits, mostly lemon and grapefruits, I also found cloves in the mix. I like to pick up vanilla and banana esters in a Hefeweizen, but that’s just me! There were none in this beer (I had two, just to make sure). The taste followed the aromas almost to the letter although I thought some vanilla did come into the flavours I picked up. The depth of body just let this beer down a little. Refreshing it was, but I wanted more crispness and sharpness to it. A fine attempt at a Hefeweizen, but just failing to ’float my boat’ enough for me to endorse it fully.

September 2008: This brewery doesn’t mess around with fancy names. The four fonts on offer at the only bar I’ve seen this beer at were: Lager, Black Lager, Red Ale and Weiss Bier. Poured into the breweries own glassware, this beer was jet black with a good tan head on top. It looked impressive sat next to the nuts and warming in the early evening sun by the harbour in Chania, Crete. The aroma was all about roasted and burnt malts, as was the taste. Sadly it was just like drinking a watered down, fizzy Porter or Stout. There was no creaminess or rich body to it at all. It was a lager, but black and with a smell (unlike most lagers). The beer just didn’t feel right, it looked so wholesome and inviting, but failed to live up to its looks. It was too fizzy and lacked body.
