Description
Penn Brewery began brewing craft beer back in 1986, making us one of the earliest pioneers in the American craft movement. We started out brewing classic lagers and German beer styles, adhering to the strict quality standards of the 16th-century Bavarian Reinheitsgebot purity laws. As we’ve expanded our lineup in recent years to include IPAs and other contemporary styles like chocolate and pumpkin beers, we’ve stayed true to our quality craftsmanship, brewing all of our beers by hand with top-tier barley and hops. We’re proud to say that Penn beers have won a total of twenty Great American Beer Festival® and World Beer Cup® medals.

Not as brutally gingery as some beer, but still not super great. Watery palate. Light barley. Pale blonde pour with ok head and lacing. Tap at Brew’d

Undoubtedly some of the best beer I’ve had fer a while. This is really some beer, somebody knows what’s happening at Penn. From the start it had all positive attributes, such a very nice tasty mild tart beer experience. I used to think my favorite style was Flemish sours but this stuff is so good. Lovely yummy, nice. Could drink a ton of this easy. Nice easy straw looking appearance too. BTW, the smell of this is like a superfresh lager.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy yellow-peach color with a large foamy yellow-white head that lingered and left decent lacing. The aroma was tangy and citric with a bit of cracker. The flavor was tart and tangy citrus, bread dough and a hint of perfume. Medium length tangy citrus and perfume finish. Medium body. Meh.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a dark reddish brown color with a small creamy beige head. Faint roasted malt aroma. Smooth roasted malt flavor is somewhat subdued, yet exhibits notes of dark caramel and dried fruits. Very drinkable, with a touch of spicy resinous hops in the finish.

Pleasant aroma, nice run with a roasted chocolate start, though the finish was anything but works class. Poor hit.

Pour is a clear copper with a large white head. Aroma is a decent amount of sweet caramel malt. Flavor is grain and slightly buttery. Maybe some adjuncts are coming thru also but this is way watery w/o much substance. This one went down hill fast after the aroma.
