Clear copper with a thick and foamy one inch head. Fruity toffee and hoppy aromas. Not over hopped, but comes with a nice bitter finish. Sweet notes all throughout the beer. Overall well-balanced, with a nice mouthfeel.

Bottle via a trade with Cletus. Pours with a tan head and a black body. Aroma of windex, smoke, chocolate, licorice, vanilla and light fruit esters. Taste is medicinal, smoke and earthy with chocolate, raisins and a bitter/astringent aftertaste. On the thin side, with light carbonation. A stout that is more than a bit rough around the edges.

Dark greige head, dwindling over nearly pitch-black beer. Stout, liquorice, heavily roasted grains, meaty and fusels. Scorched grain, mother-of-corn and faraway Bourbon casks. Nearly full-bodied, scorched wood or grain impinging on the MF. Good beer, but there’s a discrepancy between its imag in aroma, flavour and mouthfeel, that doesn’t quite agree with me. Big thanks, CK!

12 oz bottle graciously given to me by Dansting. Pour is hazed whitish golden. Frothy 2 inch white head falls fast. Quite a bit of carbonation. Aroma of sweet honey floral, orange citrus and wheatiness. Taste is the nose, with the honey sweetness taking on an almost vanilla taste in the finish. Also picks up a creamy egg taste. Peppery clove comes out when it warms. Palate is medium, coats mouth nicely, though the sweetness detracted a bit from overall drinkability. The sweetness really starts to cloy as this warms. Weird wit, actually. Thanks for giving me this one Dan.

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with a largish, foamy off-white head over a hazy brown body. Head stays a while and leaves very good lacing. Aroma is fruity, a but buttery with brown sugar, and pine hops. Taste is bitter with floral notes and burn brown sugar. Light carbonation, creamy mouthfeel.

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with a large, frothy white head and a hazy golden body. The head sticks around for a long while. Aroma of nectarine and more citrus hops. Taste is watery and very bitter throughout. Not really balanced or good to the style. Lively mouthfeel and watery bubbles. Interesting beer.

Slightly hazy golden coloured body with a virtually non-existant head. Aroma of sweet honey, curacao, wheat, yeast, malt and some light hops. Medium to Full-bodied; Sweet malty taste complete with apples and oranges noticeable, along with a good spicey yeastiness that lasts. Aftertase stays on the palate perfectly - good tastes throughout. Overall, a nice seasonal beer that shows very well for the sytle. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased at Oliver’s Beverage in Albany, New York on 22 December 2006.
