Light body with flavors of spices, yeast and wheat. The finish is clean and wheaty with a mild spice aftertaste. Straightforward and easy to drink, slightly above average overall.

Growler shared by Cliff @ BCTC. Dark brown color. Aroma is dominated by a vinegar oily kind of sourness. Flavor has this thin slick sourness as well. In general my notes just said cheap sourness, not sure exactly what I meant by that at this point. Maybe too much acetone coming through?

Growler shared by kramer @ BCTC’09, he hooked the place up. I liked this a lot, much more so than the other Jackie-Os sour. Color is dark brown, almost black. Has a small tan head. Aroma is strong tart berry sour, a cool chocolate aspect, and a tart light vinegar to round it off. Flavor is a candied sourness with tart berries sprinkled throughout. Has a nice mouthfeel to go along with all of that. I had no idea beforehand that this had raspberries in it but that makes perfect sense with what I tasted.

Sample at the brewpub. This brew is a flat black color with a medium brown head that recedes slowly. Thick rings of lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of roasted malt, berries and a hint of vanilla coffee. Rich body with flavors of roasted coffee, caramel malt and dark fruits. Alcohol is well-masked but it is there. The finish is dry and roasty with a coffee and hops aftertaste that lingers awhile. Good from start to finish.
