330ml can. Pours a murky amber with a small off white head. Aroma is unusual as you might expect from an amber ale trying to taste like cream soda! but yup, that is what it smells like. Beer is light, mildly sweet and does remind me of creaming soda, which was my favouerite soft drink back last century in high school.
Unusual beer & I guess it all comes down to do you want a beer trying to taste like a soft drink? I could chug one now and again but not every week.

From a 440ml can on 28/2/2025. Pours a clear medium golden with a biggish head. Nose features lots of caramel malt and citrus fruit. On the sip, there's a solid caramel and biscuit malt backbone, with orange and peach, and a hint of honey. Finishes decently bitter, with lots of pine and some resin. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Love that these guys (unlike nearly almost other brewer in Aus/NZ) keep doing genuinely US style West Coasts with the caramel/biscuit slant. Very good.

500ml bottle from somewhere in Melbourne in 2019. Poured a clear almost black colour with a lasting frothy tan head. The aroma is roasty malt, toffee caramel. The flavour is moderate sweet and liquorice bitter, with a smooth, rich, roasty, dry coffee, liqourice, warm boozy alcohol bitter palate. Over medium bodied with soft carbonation.

From a 375ml can on 20/2/2025. Pours a clear light ish golden with a medium head. The nose is lightly fruity and grassy. Tastes reasonably sweet, citrusy, grassy, moderately bitter. Medium body with average carbonation. Decent if not particularly exciting.

440ml can. Pours an opaque black with a dark brown head. Aroma is strong; booze, raisins, oak & dark malts. Beer is medium bodied perhaps lightened by the Barely Wine, with strong dark malts, oak & the mix of spirit flavours, medium bitterness & mild sweetness.
Interesting experiment but I'm not sure that the big mix is better than a decent imperial stout. Not a repeat buy.

Can. Amber with a near white head. 3+ Aroma of spruce, caramel, bread, red grapes, grass. So it tastes. Pretty sweet with (too much) caramel and sweet fruit before pine and moderate bitterness.

Can, Pak 'n' Save, Queenstown. Hazy yellow, medium white head. Lovely tropical nose, sweet and sour passionfruit combination. Medium bitterness, pretty dry and somewhat herbal. Lasting aftertaste. Lighter body. Superb nose, but taste lacks some dimension.

Can. Amber with a cm of white head. 3+ Aroma of pine, light breadcrust, lychees, white peaches. Lightish bodied and clean. Not all that sweet with just a little caramel to go with the fairly prominent pine. The tropical and stone fruit are not swamped though and this balance is what makes it very good.

From a 440ml can on 18/12/2024. Pours an opaque deep golden with a medium head. Has an indistinct fruit aroma with touch of fridge. Tastes of orange, mango and peach, and a bit chalky, with a moderate tangy bitterness. Silky mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. A bit muted and just okay.
