Stewart Brewing, founded in 2004 by Steve and Jo Stewart, is Edinburgh's original craft beer brewery! Stewart Brewing quickly established itself as one of Scotland's most successful and reputable breweries. Cask at Archibald Simpsons. It pours clear deep reddish - amber with a sturdy beige head. The aroma is bitter - sweet, sappy, resin, wood, resin, zingy grapefruit, brown bread and toffee. The taste is dry, bitter, woody, resin, old leather sofa, tannin, pithy, bitter citrus peel, grapefruit and a touch of toffee. Average body and fluff cask carbonation. I like the level of bitterness to this. Decent hoppy amber.

Can picked up from the moon under Water JDW. A clear golden orange coloured pour with a lasting sticky white head. Aroma is decent floral citrus, peach melba, pear kiwi, white petals. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, orange rind, dusty grains, floral citrus, grain husks in the finish. Palate is semi sweet, light grains, moderate carbonation. Xolid IPA

On cask up the White Lady.
Appearance - amber to copper and clear. Beige head.
Nose - red apple, strawberry, caramel and toffee.
Taste - malt loaf, sweet spice and more of the red fruit.
Palate - light to medium bodied, bitter finish.
Overall - quite nice.

Can from Aldi. Hazy deep golden body with a thin off-white head. No visible carbonation. Patchy lacing. Aroma of cantaloupe and orange cream sweets. Flavour of orange and angel delight. Medium body with a smooth mouthfeel. Soft fizz. It’s soft and sweet. Very good indeed for the price (although at 7.0% ABV, it’s an IPA not a DIPA).

Can from Aldi, Inverurie. It pours cloudy golden - orange with a fluffy white head. The aroma is sweet, juicy, peaches & cream, mango, passion fruit, orange chewits, orange squash, papaya and apricot yoghurt. The taste has a crisp dryness initially which smoothes out, juicy, sweet candied fruits, gummy bears, orange crème, peach cobbler, apricot yoghurt, orange chewits, prickly booze, sponge cake and a touch of spice with a relatively short, fruity finale. Average body and soft yet fluffy carbonation. Probably flirts with being too sweet imo. Good boost offered for the cost. Not bad.
