Description
Rustic family owned and operated restaurant featuring farm to table menu, gluten free and vegetarian selections, sustainable business practices including solar and biomass, 20 handcrafted award winning brews.
Current owner, Tom Mills, has owned and operated The Flying Goose since its start in 1993. In 1996, he gave what was known originally as The Four Corners Grille a unique identity by creating a micro-brewery. Mills put many years into rebuilding what is now The Flying Goose Brew Pub & Grille, a casual, family friendly restaurant and brewery now managed by his three kids Brett, Jordan, and Brianna. Our goal is to provide a welcoming environment to all those who walk through our doors. Whether it be for a quick bite, a cold brew, or a place for family and friends to gather, we extend our “home” to you.
Over the years we have learned what is most important to us and the values we practice as a small business. We focus on sourcing locally as much as possible and are thankful for the wonderful relationships created with local purveyors. We became NH’s 1st solar powered brewery in 2011 and continue to find ways to use clean energy as a sustainable business.
The memories, laughs and relationships created here are what we live for! We have been fortunate to work with and serve many incredible people through the years. We are grateful for our amazing “Goose Family” and are thankful for the opportunity to serve you.

Draft @ FG. Golden hazy amber color with lasting head retention. Aroma is toasted grain, caramel and hints of toffee. The flavor is pretty much the same with a light yeast note in the body. Lighter body with a toasted grain texture. Pretty easy to drink and very tame overall.

4 oz. taster @ the brew pub. Color is murky brown with a black center. Lasting retention in the glass. The aroma is dominated by hop character; herbal, pine notes with a hint of citrus notes. Nice dry hop notes!
Flavor upfront is bitter citrus over a dirty malt base, transitioning into a mild pine bitterness that gives way to cocoa and roast chocolate malt. The finish is lightly floral at first then it lingers for a bit giving moderate flavors of pine. This really is borderline a Black IPA but the pilsener yeast gives it a lighter body with a crispness. The brewer gave this brew an appropriate it is indeed bizarre but it still kind of works if you like hop forward beers. Rather drinkable.

Sample at the source. Pitch black with real thick off white head that coated the glass in a sheet. Aroma is very faint chocolate and maybe ash. Really trying to find it. The flavor thankfully is better. Chocolate syrup, light charred malt, Quaker oats and a light coffee bitterness. Finish is abrupt with a lightly creamy texture. Overall, no issues and lighter in body for a stout. For a 6% stout I was hoping for a more fuller body but real drinkable for sure!

4 oz. Sample at the brew pub. Hazy golden clouds that is impossible to see through. Nose is maltly with some spicy hop notes. The flavor follows the nose with the spiciness being abrupt in the finish. Nice level of malt that provides the balance. After it was warm with the final oz, I also got a faint floral nuance from it. Leaner body that is borderline medium. Easy to drink with a moderate amount flavor that makes it real easy to session a ton of it if you wished. Simple yet well made for the lighter beer drinker.

4 oz. Sample at the source. Black liquid with light retention. Nose is pretty nice. Good roasted character, chocolate malt with pine needles and some light char. Texture is dry and resinous. Lingering pine bitterness. If you like piney black IPA’s, this is a nice sample.

Draft @ the brew pub. Pee yellow color with thin head in the 4 oz sample glass. Aroma is sweet grain and rice cakes. Flavor is light and refreshing. The mentioned sweet grain and lager yeast. Thin body, yet it is what you want in the style. Nicely done lager.

On tap at the Southern New Hampshire Brewers Festival 7/26/2013 Pretty clear light gold. Spicy basil compliments the honey and sweet malts nicely. One of my favorites from the fest.
