Description
In 2007, the NV Brasserie Caulier was declared bankrupt. The Caulier brand name came into the hands of the beer company Bien-Être Développement, headed by the entrepreneur Eric Coppieters, which subsequently changed its name to Caulier Développement.

In 2012, he opened a new chapter in the long history of exceptional craft beers by vowing to deliver locally brewed craft beers, to sell them within 28 weeks of bottling through 28 gastro pubs and to deliver them within a 28 minute radius. This way our consumers and customers would receive the beer at peak flavour.

In 2013 the name was changed into Caulier Sugar Free. In 2020 - after a hefty capital investment - the name of the company was changed into Brasserie 28, which is more in line with the ambitious plans of Coppieters (like establishing of a new brewery in Brussels).

For the time being the beers are brewed at the Proefbrouwerij.

Cloudy golden with floaties and a medium off white head. Sweet malty aroma with fruity and caramel notes. Sweet flavour with ripe fruits, malt and caramel notes. Finished sweet.

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of fonefan. Hazy golden with big floating impurities and a white head. Yeasty aroma with distinct coriander. Medium body, fruity and yeasty with a dry and phenollic edge. 241009

33cl bottle Delhaize Enghien. Pours hazy golden, white head. Aroma is straight forward; floral hops and spices, smells very fresh and grainy with lingering yeast. Taste, very similar; citrus hops, sweet with wheaty palate.

Huge brown-beige head, ovre hazy red-brown beer. Thick malty, syrupy nose, some smell of raw - if fresh - eggs, and autumn leaves. Very malty. Empty, dull-sweet, pointing all the way to fully fermented brown candi sugar. Faint dry malts, watered-down candi syrup. Light, watery & thin MF. Frustratingly disappointing beer, certainly seen the surprisingly pleasing Blonde.

Huge, fine, lightly yellowish head, slighlty irregular and fed by well-carbonated yellow beer with a distinct greenish shine. Chalk, dusty malts. Somewhat wry, bitterish, tannine-like aroma. Faint bitterish flavour over sweetish underlying malts. Again spicy, wry, nearly woody. Pretty dry beer. Kind of right between top-fermenting blond and real Pilsener. Medium bodied at best, pretty carbonated, slight slickness, velvety. Nice, light drinking blond, no mistake!
