Review following the BJCP2014 guidelines (draft - style 21B). Bottle 33 cl - Batch unknown. AROMA: nice citric, tropical, pine and resinous aroma with small roasted notes in the background. APPEARANCE: dark Brown and opaque. huge tanned head with good retention. TASTE: initial fruity flavour that is smashed with high roasted and coffee flavours (almost burnt). High bitterness amplified by the unbalanced roastiness, that lingers way beyond the aftertaste. dry finish. PALATE: medium-low body with some roasted derived astringency. high carbonation. alcohol warmth not sensed. OVERALL: an unbalanced black IPA, with too much roasted flavours that masks the hops. not bad, nonetheless.

Bottled @ Camping Ratebeers 2014, small sample. Dark color, short head. Aroma of piney and grapefruity hops, roasted malts, some coffee and dark chocolate. Bit sweet, medium bitterness. Slight harsh and dry from the roast. A bit too much maltiness perhaps, but overall a very nice Spanish brew. Ratings are deserved.

12oz bottle pour at Never Stop in San Sebastian. Pours a hazy caramel amber with some heavy, sticky, white head. Nose is malty, soap, orange peel, mild pine. Fairly mild nose though. Flavor is a little better, orange, buttery, mild cracker, a little pine. Dry finish.
