About
In 1961 Tetley Walker, Ind Coope and Ansells merged to form Allied Breweries, which became the world's largest brewing conglomerate. In 1979 Allied Breweries merged with Lyon's Foods to form Allied Lyons, who merged with Carlsberg in 1992.

In 2011 the Brewery in Leeds closed and was sold for redevelopment.

Some beers remain being brewed by Carlsberg.

Any beers from before the initial merger in 1961 should be listed separately.

Hand-pulled pints in the Nottingham: a pub in Cleethorpes well known for the quality of their Tetley’s. The three I had on 9th Nov 2012 were in fine form as they always been on my many visits to this lovely old basic boozer. Good looking beer: deep golden colour with a full head of off-white sat proudly on top. This has never been full of aromas and taste: just an honest session ale that has more malts than hops in both the smell and flavour. Biscuity malts and floral hops to exact: satisfying and refreshing. Not as good as it was years ago , but still an easy drinking brew.

Can poured into a shaker. Nothing really special here. Somewhat flat and uninspiring. Cereal grains and some very light hops.

500ml bottle. Pours very dark brown with a large, frothy head. Aroma is raisin, molasses and coffee. Taste has sweet molasses to start with a watery treacle finish. Hints of coffee. Nice to see something other than a 4% lager or nitro bitter from a macro.

Bardzo słaby i przeciętny bitter, lekko gryzący na języku, zbyt mało gożki nawet jak na bittera. W smaku wodnisty i lurowaty. Piana średnia lecz ulotna.
