Tetley’s Original Bitter can 440ml from Morrisons. Pale chestnut clear colour with little or no beige head. Toffee malt aroma with some vague earthy hop aroma. Bit watery in mouth. More sweet toffee malt flavour in the mouth and on the finish. Not much hop presence. OK, no bad flavours, just a sweet toffee flavour and then not much, Touch of dryness on the finish.

This is a pretty good offering, for a ’global giant’. Although little apparent to the nose, the taste was good, with an overall hint of spice that made for a decent winter warmer pint in front of a real fire.
