Description
We are an East Vancouver craft brewery inspired by tradition and creativity, and go beyond the ordinary to celebrate that which is strange* and extraordinary. The beer we make is influenced both by old world traditions and West coast ingenuity as well as by seasonal ingredients. Our barrel programme promises unique aged beers, and we have a bit of a thing for sour beer.

Slight haze, bubbly head, quite fruity, stone fruit, low bitterness and the malt is muddled. Itβs a touch sticky so for me itβs a ferm thing.

473mL can. Pours a murky yellow-gold with a white head. Pulpy orange juice and fresh grass on the nose. Flavour is very pulpy and pithy, lots of orange juice and fresh grass. Quite an unpleasant hazy.

On tap at Strange Fellows. Pours clear blonde with a white head. Rustic saison yeast and gentle citrus peels on the nose. Flavour has a moderately dry and spicy saison yeast expression, slightly floral, some citrus notes. Nice, nothing exceptional, but a well-made saison.

On tap at Strange Fellows, pours a pale golden with a small white head. Aroma has gentle rustic notes, a touch of spiciness, and crisp biscuity malt. Flavour is crisp and dry, with a clean, rustic saison yeast expression, light spiciness, and crisp biscuity base. Crisp, spicy, and dry, though not particularly complex. Pleasant.

On tap at Strange Fellows. Pours murky dull ruddy orange with a small white head. Tart berries and lacto on the nose. Flavour has a sad base of mixed berries and white sugar with some tart lacto. What's the point in aiming for mediocrity?

On tap at Strange Fellows. Pours clear pale gold with a white head. Pine, citrus, tangy berries on the nose; a bit like detergent. Flavour has crisp pine, citrus, berries. Still has that detergent quality. Nice hoppy bite. Decent WC IPA.

750 ml bottle. Pours a dark reddish brown with moderate tan head. Aromas of oaky bourbon and toasted malts. Flavors of boozy and oaky bourbon, a bit of marzipan, postage stamp and toasted malts. Pretty boozy, lacking depth and could use some sweetness. More like a Strong Ale than a Stout...

Dark brown, a bit murky but with a robust head. Chocolate and boozy bourbon, this is rough around the edges. Yeah, crazy rough and boozy. Definitely aged less than 48 months, so I kind of hope they have some ancient barrels set aside. I mean, good base, ok treatment, but two steps below top class.
