On tap at Strange Fellows, pours a hazy yellowish blonde with a small white head. Aroma is muted, with fuzzy peach and chalky hopburn—not particularly inviting. Flavour has plenty of unpleasant car exhaust fumes, hopburn, and some fuzzy peach. Really unpleasant hop expression and very poor body. Bad.

On tap at Strange Fellows, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma is quite fruity for a westie, with tropical stone fruits, resinous hops, a touch of pine, and caramel malt. Flavour is fruity and moderately bitter, with resinous hops, piney bitterness, and tropical stone fruits. Nice vibrance to this, finishing with a pronounced biting bitterness. Very good.

On tap at the brewery. Pours opaque yellow with a white head. Allium and hop burn on the nose. Flavour has pine, allium, pulpy tropical fruit, and chalk. Very poor.
Marketed as a west coast IPA, despite not having the characteristics of one.

Poured from 473mL can. Hazy yellow gold with small white head. Rustic grain malt, mild pine and grapefruit hops, a bit dull, but okay.

750 ml bottle. Pours black with short tan head. Aromas of oaky bourbon, fruity coffee and slick roasted malts. Flavors of boozy bourbon and dry roasty malts. Thin and boozy. Maybe not aging well; though not oxidized.

Can from The Gull, North Vancouver
Pale yellow and hazy (almost cloudy), this is counterintuitive; small head. Mild aroma of pine, and plastic. Dry and crisp mouthfeel and crusty bread, the malt base is pleasant and interesting; well balanced bitterness, with grassy elements upfront, and piney resins later, almost minty.
It's a modern IPA, it's good, but not particularly bright.

750 ml bottle. Pours a very dark brown with short tan head. Aromas of oaky bourbon and roasted malts. Flavors of oak, strong sharp bourbon, coconut and roasted malts. Overdose on the barrel.

Bottle from The Gull, North Vancouver
Black colour; the small, tan head disappears quickly. Aroma of oak, cookies, toasted almonds; it's mild. Good body strength, and soft mouthfeel; medium sweetness, certainly not the sugary and syrupy bomb that is so common nowadays among imperial stouts; good roasted malt character, burnt bread, toasted nuts, and lots of rough bourbon.
A bit biased because I'm thirsty tonight, but I'm really enjoying this one; it has some complexity and elegance.

Poured from leftover bottle from beerplace and fiulijn share. Near black with small light beige head. Loads of oak, gentle roast, feint bourbon sweetness with a bitter finish. Enjoyable.
