750ml shared with Alex on distance (because he was not powerful enough to share it at my home). Appearance: brown with a beige head. Aroma: oak barrel, some grass, vanilla, berries, and roasty character. Taste: good body, charred oak, berries, tons of roasted character. Overall: this is a roasted bomb. The rest will go into a brownie.

Grapefruit and pine. Some booze. Clear golden pour with decent head an lacing. If this were one of the haze factory east coast breweries I feel like I'd be amped and congratulatory that they pulled off a west coaster. So this indeed is. Big body, nice bitterness. Maybe a little too much marmalade type flavour. But overall I'd drink sixers of this over average green onion hazy IPAs any day. Can. UT.

750mL bottle, pours jet black with a small light brown head. Aroma is dominated by the barrel, with tons of wood, heavy oak, big bourbon, and moderate-to-heavy roast. Flavour is robust, with intense bourbon, big wood, oak galore, some alcohol, and medium-to-heavy roast. Heavily woody and oaky. Really nice barrel expression.

Slight haze, pale, medium head. The aroma is strangely pineapple, also mandarin. The palate experience kicks off with pale malt, moderate bitterness, that same mandarin orange. The hop character is quality, and unique in its sweet fruits, but the malt isn’t as good as it needs to be…slightly lacking brightness. I wouldn’t mind a bit more bitterness either, but it’s still good.

2021. Bottle pour at the brewery in 2024. I mean, I'd be crazy not to. Dark brown. Bubbly head. This has a solid bourbon nose, light chocolate, with a balancing dark sugar note. Good balance. Solid edition, didn't like it quite as much as the Basil Hayden one I had just before, but still good. 8 8 7 8 7.5 =7.6
2019 bottle, sampled in 2025. Dark brown, thin head. Some dark fruit, chocolate, lots of bourbon, and coffee. Feels like the age has softened the body, certainly lower carbo, the bourbon is still prominent and it punches up the fruitiness. 8 7 7 8 7.5

Boss pour at the brewery, because fuck it, sometimes you just gotta walk straight to the bar and order 12oz of imperial stout. Now, they did say 2024 and if we call it something else that will be confusing. This was released in 2024. Very dark, with a thick head. This looks appetizing. Rich dark malts, toffee, molasses, good bitterness, some alcohol in the finish, but there’s still good sugary balance. Rounded. I really liked this one...and it was poured a bit too cold and still rocked.

355mL can [labelled Penelope Passionfruit Sour]. Pours murky blonde with fast-fading foamy white head. Aroma has juicy passionfruit. Flavour has a bunch of passionfruit up front, moderate tartness, very light acidity; foamy mouthfeel. Very simple, but still enjoyable; a decent kettle sour.

Flight pour at brewery. Pours black with small beige head. Aroma has tons of bourbon barrels, some chocolate. Flavour has a deep and rich bourbon barrel and malt profile. Smooth mouthfeel. Tons of well-incorporated bourbon barrel character. Excellent.

Flight pour at brewery. Pours clear blonde with small white head. Aroma has crisp semi-sweet apples and a bit of farmhouse funk. Flavour has slightly tart semi-sweet apples, skins, only a small touch of funk. Effervescent carbonation. Not bad, but the palate has less funk than the nose suggested.

Flight pour at brewery. Pours dark brown with off-white head. Aroma has roasted malt and general earthiness. Flavour has roasted, grainy malts, a touch of espresso and cocoa. Simple, but decent enough.
