Hazy pale yellow pour with a mid-height, white, firm head. Very citrus forward with minimal wheat notes. A sweetness run through it under a slightly tangy citrus profile. Skews hoppy. Thin bodied. Like they smashed a session IPA into a wheat ale. Decent.

Nice stuff. Very floral. But good lager character too. Maybe initially the floral thing overwhelms but it is quite pleasantly fun.

Tap at Komachi. Nose is raisin, grape, caramel. Very tangy, almost tart flavor of grapes, a touch of raisin, some biscuit and caramel. Crisp and bright, nicely tart, and a nicely bitter finish. Hazy brown-orange color. Good stuff.

Tap at Komachi. Pale gold, hazy. Nose is yuzu, biscuitsy malt, diacetyl. Big yuzu flavor, malty, biscuits, bitter finish. Surprised to find diacetyl in this. It's not crazy, and the yuzu almost covers it in the taste, but definitely reduces the experience.

Hop Kotan Harvest Brew American IPA 6% Opaque gold with a dense eggshell white head of foam that is long lasting and when it finally dissipates it leaves copious lacing behind. Herbal hoppy notes meld with citrus and stone fruit (peach). Quite full bodied and well balanced. The fruity hop notes give it a somewhat slick mouthfeel but all in all great brew, Hop Kotan seems to be making some of the best fresh hop beers in Japan.

Hop Kotan Harvest Brew Golden Ale 2021 5% Nice grassy herbal hop bouquet with a medium body and the taste matched but has some eggy sulfur and crackery pale maltiness. The beer is a matte straw gold with soapy bright white foam.

Hop Kotan Kaitouranma IPL (快刀乱麻) American IPL 6.5% 62 IBU Big herbal woodsy slightly dank hop aroma on a beer with a fairly full mouthfeel. Sweet malts but perfectly balanced definitely woodsy pine with not much sweet juicy hoppiness but this hits the spot. I was looking forward to trying this and I’m glad it didn’t disappoint. Out of the slew of new styles recently IPL is probably the one I like the most.

Hop Kotan Tomoya Style Pumpkin Kampoca Pumpkin Ale 6.5% Cracking this ruddy Amber brown brew with a beige head of foam released great pumpkin spice aroma featuring nutmeg and cinnamon. Medium bodied with a slightly raspy carbonation. The taste has nutty pumpkin and pie spices but not to excess. Heavy for some but damn near perfect to me. I think this may be my favorite Japanese Pumpkin Ale.

blonde color. Lots of cereal malts in the nose. Hops dont shine, kinda odd character on the palate. The bitterness coats the back of my throat, I get this ripping bitterness over a semi sweet malt backbone but the edges show some butter.
Aiming for the Czech style maybe ok. Actually now that I think about it, it is not a bad take on Czech pils. Just not my thing

light amber color. Very bitter, light body, lots of tangerines and apples. Dry and enjoyable
