This is a chillax beer apparently .
Fujizakura Kogen Heights 4x1 (four by one) West Coast Pilsner w/Yamanashi Green Tea 4.5%
Matte straw gold with thick eggshell white foam. Herbal hop bouquet with tangy tea notes, not really west coast to me. Nice crisp light body with a herbal mild genmaicha type aroma. The taste is on the bitter side but overall it’s a decent beer.

aroma of smoked sausage, smoke, bacon. Flavor of smoke, burnt malt, and some slight nutiness in the finish. Interesing smoked, i liked it.

15/9/2024. Bottle courtesy of Painy’s travels to the Far East. Pours clear pale golden with a large long lasting frothy white head. Aroma is malty, citrus, floral, hay. Starts a little sweet, with excellent developing bitterness. Medium body, very smooth, average carbonation. A very well done pils. Rare I rate one this high.

It’s a bit strange as you’d expect from fujizakura making an ipa. Soapy kind of feel. Quite bitter. But it’s alright.

deep golden color. Big caramel and butter popcorn notes. Medium body and bitterness. Very malt forward with some citrus notes. This is like a 90s ipa with Diacetyl . Pass.

nice banana cloves in the nose. Smooth palate rounded, phenol ic and tons of bananas. Very refreshing and well made. A touch of apple and lemon in the finish.

cloudy golden color. Frothy white head . Tart, with lots of apple and smooth palate. It’s a sour apple weizen which conceptually seems like a good idea but this is just ok

2022 batch, on tap at Takumiya. Very hazy, cloudy gold. Big Strata hop nose, piny and resiny, slightly dank, with citrus and tropical fruits. Weizen character is not huge, light clove, citrus, bit of banana. Wheat. Lemon, resiny, dank hop flavor, wheat comes through, low yeast esters. Time seems to have diminished the hop character a bit, but still nice.

Tap at Takumiya. Hazy blonde. Light peach aroma in the nose, clove and banana and citrus also. The peach flavor is certainly there, but does not dominate. Weizen base comes through clearly, with a bit of dry peach essence. Not super fruity, not sweet. Quite elegant and nice.
