About
Yvan DE BAETS and Bernard LEBOUCQ meet each other in 2002, during the second edition of the Zinnekparade. Bernard had created the now famous ZINNEBIR for this unique Brussels event. However, it took another five years for BRASSERIE DE LA SENNE to settle effectively in the capital. In the meantime, the brewing activities were continued at friendly breweries. This bohemian existence came to an end on December 22, 2010, the date of the very first 100% Brussels brew!

Draught @ Kerstbierfestival 2007 in Essen, BE. [ My Belgian Strong Ale #200 ] Clear medium brown color with a average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, burnt, coffee, moderate hoppy, herbs. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (151207)

Malzig-bitterer Antrunk. Die Bitterkeit steigt schnell stark an und erreicht einen schon unangenehmen Intensitätsgrad. Dabei ist die Malzigkeit vorerst noch wichtig, die Bedeutung nimmt mit der zunehmenden Bitterkeit aber deutlich ab. Untertönig hopfig, im Nachgeschmack kommt dieses Aroma in den Vordergrund und bildet mit der Bitterkeit und deutlicher Getreidigkeit den Abschluss dieses merkwürdigen Bieres. [i] Bottle from Onlyfineales.com, had this 25-12-07 [/i] Poured chesnut in colour with medium off white head (looked good) Aroma was quite nutty very interesting. Full bodied malty taste, very easy drinking, lovely dark fruits and nuts again! are revealed in this quite indulgent Christmas cracker, really liked this beer.

33 cL bottle, Kerstbierfestival 2007 in Essen/Belgium. Pours copper brown with a lacing off-white head. Caramel malty aroma with a vague spice note. Flavour is mild sweet with an acidic note and a nice yeasty flavour. Ends lingering yeasty, lovely.

2007-11-02, Papsoe Blind Tasting, corked bottle
Cloudy blond color, the head is eggwhite-like. Nice sour aroma, with cellar smell and citrus fruits, also light plastic. Medium-thin body, with a balanced mix of light malt flavor, prominent acidity, light fruitness (lemon peel, bitter grapefruit). Good, but without vibes.

bottled@Kerstbierfestival, Essen. Amber colour, small beige head. Aroma is fruity, slightly hoppy and also spicy. Flavour is malty, caramelly slightly hoppy and yeasty. Wellbalanced.

Bottle Kerstbierfestival 2007: Poured a reddish brown with a jello like off white head. The aroma is rich roasted malts. The taste is similar with a dry roasted malt finish.

From tap, Kerstbierfestival 2007 in Essen/Belgium. Pours hazy brown with a lacing off-white head. Caramel malt aroma, heavy roasted and somewhat toffee like. Bitter herbal flavour with some sweetness lurking through. Ends with a lingering spice note into the burned malt flavours.

Pours deep amber into a snifter. Tan head with good retention slowly recedes to skim surface leaving no lacing. Clean malt and pit fruit aromas. Bittersweet caramel upfront with a lasting, puckering grapefruit pit finish. Made my lips tingle.

Bottle (forgot where I got this from) Poured a very hazy yellow with large white frothy head that took an age to subside. Spices and yeast on the nose. Tasted fresh and hoppy reminded me a little bit of Hommelbier for the strident hoppiness, it was nice drinking a Belgian beer that was so refreshing and of such a low abv just for a change. A6 A2 T7 P3 Ov16 3.4 just checked my rating for this and it is seriously out of date Bottle by the case 3-4 times a year from Dranken Geers, Oostakker, Nr Gent, Belgie This is one of our most regularly consumed beers, I love the crispness, sessionability and drinkability of this beer it has become along with Zinnebir one of my favourite Belgian beers and the brewery is also a favourite, A7 A4 T9 P4 Ov17 4.1
