Can. Hazy pastel yellow color with a green tint. Low head. Big, juicy hop nose, pineapple, orange, grapefruit, mango, passion fruit. Balanced, tangy flavor, slightly herbal, peppery, light bitterness. tropical fruits are big. Green tea is light--could use more. Low carbonation. Smooth and not slick.

First up is, Two Rabbits Mexican Lager with Lime 5% Straw gold with fizzy fast dissipating foam and a grainy lime aroma. The taste is surprisingly earthy lime, kind of a rough lager. It’s ok but a bit too close to a Corona clone rather than an elevated one.

Can. Bright citrus and white grape nose, very fruity and lively Nelson and other NZ hops evident. Crackery malt in the background. Very pale gold with lace. Not much of a head. Lovely NZ hop flavor, fruity and lightly sweet with a crisp, light malt character and carbonation that is a bit lower than I would like. Taste and smells great, would love to try this on tap.

Two Rabbits x Hansharo Barrel Märzen 5% I really wanted to try this so I’m glad I spotted it at Dig the Line. About 850¥ for a take out can. It’s a lovely orange brown with a beige head of foam and a big malty sweet aroma with underlying stone fruit and hints of cocoa buns. Malty caramel with a bit of woodsy character but I get this chewy chocolate thing. Like chocolate fudge with tobacco leaf. It has a really smooth medium to full body and is well balanced making it easy to drink. An interesting take on the style.

Two Rabbits Vienna Lager 5% Orange color with fizzy light beige foam and a bready sweet peppery aroma. Medium bodied with a fairly lush mouthfeel but raspy carbonation and dry finish. Nice toasted honey graham malt character with peppery notes. Very tasty stuff. Dig the Line seems to have the latest in their lager series on tap now, a French lager maybe I should go try it…

Tap at Two Rabbits. A golden stout. Nose is coffee, vanilla, chocolate, light citrus. Hazy golden. Sweet flavor with tons of vanilla, coffee, chocolate. Very smooth and silky. Nice, but the vanilla got to be a bit much.

Tap at Two Rabbits. A sherry barrel aged barley wine. Nose is sherry, oak, bretty funk, caramel, vanilla. Hazy brown with a pretty, fine, thick head. Bitter oak hits first, then sherry, caramel, vanilla, and bretty. A very complex and fascinating beer.

Tap at Two Rabbits. Pale gold with a thick head and a touch of haze. Sansho first in the nose, yuzu, wheaty biscuits, lemon / orange. Lots of sansho, then yuzu in the flavor, then wheat. A bit too spicy for my tastes, but they nailed the description.

Can from Isetan. Deep amber orange, tall head. Toasty nose, light caramel, bit fruity. Toasty, nutty flavor, touch of roast, caramel, stone fruit, dark bread. Rich, full, not heavy, definitely not overly sweet. Good one.
