Tap at Keyaki SPring 2015. Airy, sweet, syrupy, apples and other fake-tasting fruits, metallic. No thanks this time.

Tap at Keyaki, Spring 2015. Nose of caramel, toffee. Sweet toffee flavor, sryupy, sugary, rough, poorly-made stuff. --- Beer merged from original tick of Brewing Bay Amber on 21 Dec 2022 at 04:18 - Score: Appearance - 10 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 7. Original review text: Confusing that someone retired the old brewery and added the new one with a different name. This is a polotmavy lager, not the old amber ale that went by the same name. Tap at the pub. Pretty, deep amber with a tall head. Toasty, light caramel, lightly tannic nose. Tannins in the flavor too, very toasty, lightly nutty, caramel, grassy hops. Would prefer a bit more residual sweetness personally, but this is well done.

Tap at Keyaki, Spring 2015. Medium orange-gold. Oily, flat, dull malt and hops. Not much flavor, and a bit rough as well. Not terrible.

cloudy orange color. Cloves, pepper, unbaked cookies. Very smooth, not enough carbonation. Clovey finish. Not bad

dark amber color. Big Citra nose. The mouth is not nearly funky enough to be a Saison. More like a pale ale with a touch of funk.

Tap. Nose of rich malt and dirty English hops. Malty, well balanced flavor with earthy hops and a nicely bitter finish. Decent and pretty authentic.

On tap at the Kyoto Beer Fest 2014. A mellow golden pour with a filmy white head. A faint malt forward aroma. The taste is well balanced, malts, maize, grass, noble hops. A nice start to the day.

Tap at Bungalow. Biscuity pilsner malt nose, lemony hops. Huge pilsner malt flavor, rather sweet, light butter, some lemon. Clear CZ malt and hop character as was intended. Not sure where this was brewed--heard some lager brewing might have been done at Nihonkai Club--but this is very nice. Just a bit too sweet and thus lacking crispness, but on the right road. --- Beer merged from original tick of Brewing Bay Pilsner on 25 Sep 2020 at 09:12 - Score: Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 6 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 7. Original review text: Bottle from the brewery. Slighty grainy, crackery nose. A bit worty. Very mild hops. Deep golden with a large, airy head. slightly sweet grainy flavor, not very malty at all, with some porridge. Noble hops come in mid palate, herbal, light citrus, strong bitterness in the finish. Body is rather thin. The Czech character is rather weak, aside from the dry, strikingly bitter finish. Malt character isn't enough for me. It's a tasty lager with no flaws, but not a proper svetly.

On tap at the brewpub, shared by Chuwy. An orange gold pour with a nice fruity hoppy nose, medium body & overall a really tasty beer.
