Medium brown color. Lost of toasted malt, barley tea, somewhat fruity modest bitterness. Very interesting. Slightly heavy body. Enjoyable.

Tap at Tokyo BeerFes. Pretty red, hazy. Nice rounded malt, some caramel, cherry, gumball, and good citrus hops. Full and smooth yet not heavy, good hoppy flavor, crisp bitterness and nice fruit. (Had it again at Komachi. The malt character was really impressive, in the way that only Czech beers have--like a real decoction mash. Rich and bready but not sweet or heavy. Lovely.

Had this at an izakaya(pub) in Kanazawa and seemed very fresh. Golden hazy color. It’s unfiltered. Sweet hoppy fruity nose. Light clean dry and very very fruity. Good cereal notes in the mouth as well. Definitely using new world hops, and I would consider it more of an ipl rather than a lager. Big bitterness. Lower than expected carbonation. Wow. I might expect this to be good but this is way better. Fantastic

Hazy medium amber color with frothy white head. Very estry nose with the yeast just grabbing you - banana, cloves really shine but then there is this minerality underneath from the amber. Very clean mouth feel that has some of the smoothness of a weizen. Definitely well made but doesn’t do a tremendous amount for me.

Pours nice reddish or more copper shade of amber. Nice head at first that reduces later into a thin film. Aroma is traditional for lagers, slight crisp grainy feel covered with faintly fruit-ish noble hops. Taste feels at first just nicely easydrinkable but then the subtleties start showing up. There is nice nutty thing going on, slight caramel in the taste. I am also getting bitter rowan berries and aftertaste has lots of lingering but quite tame bitterness.Does not get cloying at any point, all flavours are in good balance. Very well executed, superbly drinkable lager beer.

Tap at Tadg’s. Cloudy gold with a low, fine head. Great Sorachi Ace nose, a bit grassy and leafy, lemon, herbs. Not overdone, but clearly comes across as Sorachi. Somewhat oily flavor, rich malt, touch of diacetyl (acceptable level), strange and interesting herbal bitterness from the SA. Perfect use of this finicky hop.

Tap at Tadg’s. Light aroma of Sorachi Ace, much lighter than the pilsner. Chewy chocolate malts. Flavor is chocolate, bread, nice malts, light creamy vanilla. Nice, but the hop could be stronger.

Tap at Tadg’s. Big oranges in the nose, lighter coriander, with some chocolate and bready malts underneath. Flavor again is spicy, orange, chocolate. Smooth, full body. Not overly sweet. As it opened up and warmed, the malts kicked in more and the orange seemed less intense. Nice stuff.

@Tadg’s Nihonkai Club Event. Coriander & Orange Dark Lager paired with a chocolate tort with coriander & orange. Pitch black with a thick beige head and a fresh orange zest plus chocolate aroma.
Zesty carbonation then chocolate syrup and orange with coriander. Very good. Paired with the decadent richness of the nutty tart they both explode with chocolate and orange flavor. Fantastic.
