330ml bottle at Matt's. Appearance: dark brown with a weak head. Aroma: peat and smoke. Taste: along the same lines, quite roasty and boozy. Overall: ok for such beer profile fans.

Lemon grass and pale malts. Clear gold with a decent white head. Soft wheat and some lemon, coriander with a touch of bitterness. A weird like Wit.

Bottle. Thanks Jon! Aroma is naturally peppery and spicy but some plummy fruitiness comes through too. Taste is great, initial pepper burst fading into light caramel and roast with a touch of smoke and chilli there too at the end. Really nice combination. Bit of a cola feel to it too. Like it!

Tap at the Roundhouse. Touch of cardboard but nice chocolate flavour too. Smooth and little sweet. Bit nutty too. Good.

On tap at Agora, pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Nose brings out lots of dry apple core, light apple skins. Flavour is crisp and dry, with a pretty bone dry apple core character, gentle acidity, and dry apple skins. Clean and drinkable, but nothing special.

On tap at The Agora, pours a deep dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out earthy malt, with plenty of roast and some herbal notes. Flavour is quite harsh, with lots of boozy notes, earthy notes, and harsh roast. Chaotic and hot. This isn't good.

Bottle at Bun House, China Town. Roast and spice aroma. Dark and glossy. Thin beige head. The sichuanese is not overdone adds heatband spice to the roasty dark coffee of the porter. Medium bodied. Creamy. Average carbonation. Long warming finish. Nice spicey stuff.

Dark toffee malts and some oak. Cloudy amber with a decent white head. Toffee, raisin, light spice and a bit of booze in the finish. Don’t get the adjuncts, but it is pleasant.
