Description
Being a Dandy means falling hard into your internal fascinations, desires, and interests. Whatever they may be. Dandies ignore trends and styles and walk their own path. Every one of us has the chance to be a Dandy, most of us already are without knowing it, and we’re here to celebrate that.

The Dandy Brewing Company is Calgary's original little brewery that embraces being a Dandy whatever that looks like. We produce inspired beers, styles we have fallen in love with, in small batches with lots of care.

Our unique approach to brewing and a keen eye for detail fosters creativity in both our recipes and beer styles.

On-site, we are pleased to offer a unique brewery experience featuring a full-service tasting room restaurant with an exquisite menu of fine drinking food, a curated selection of cocktails, glass pours of selected wines, and a wide selection of Dandy beers brewed on-site.

We share a passion for not only brewing, but the people, processes, and experiences that make the experience so special.

473ml can. Pours a slightly hazy yellow gold with a small, foamy, short lived, white head that laces. Sweet aroma of grainy wheat malt, banana, yeast, bubble gum, clove and floral hops. Sweet flavour of grainy wheat malt, banana, orange, yeast, light clove and floral hops in a dry, mild bitter finish. Light body with a watery to oily texture and soft carbonation. Refreshing and crushable.

Can from The Gull, North Vancouver
Blond colour, just slightly hazy. The aroma is mellow, a bit flowery, faintest trace of Belgian yeast, esters. Good body strength, it has a moderate amount of residual sugar, but it's not in cloying territory, and it's well balanced by alcohol and bitterness; spicy yeast, in moderation, with mild pepper and coriander profile; delicate fruity esters complete the picture. And it avoids the typical flaws of North American Tripels, such as bubblegum.
Very good.

Can from The Gull, North Vancouver
Hazy to cloudy blond colour, pale. The aroma is quite nice, some fruity hops, zest, a touch of piney resin. Dry mouthfeel (a bit too dry); anonymous malt base, it's not bready, it's not creamy, so what is left is a bit of chalk; the hops have a rather vegetable character; the bitterness is there, but with some pith; and it seems to have a higher than normal acidity.
Things didn't go very well here. Drinkable.

Odd aroma is a bit candyish, but also sour. Weird stuff. Not all bad but I have no idea what to make of it.

Quite pale, with a little bit of haze. Not much head. Some stone fruit, but it's quite yoghurty, which is not my ideal sour beer character. --- Beer aliased from original tick of Wild Sour on 10 Sep 2018 at 01:45 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 7. Original review text: Cloudy, thick head, has a clean lactic note, light fruit. Ok tart fruit. Good body. Not bad...a touch to the yeasty side but that’s it.

Bottle sample at Farmhouse Fest 2022, pours a cloudy bright yellow with a small white head. Aroma is nothing but yogurt, with tons of lacto, nothing much else. Flavour is full of lacto, with intense yogurty notes and a tiny hint of funk. Very yogurty. This needs a lot of work to express the wild character. It's fine at best.

Bottle sample at Farmhouse Fest 2022, pours a cloudy bright yellow with a small white head. Aroma is a cluster fuck, with a touch of funk, tart citrus hops, and earthiness — seems rather jumbled. Flavour is jumbled, with earthy hops, buggy notes and some stale stone fruits. This doesn't work too tell. A bit lame.

Bottle sample at Farmhouse Fest 2022, pours a cloudy bright yellow with a small white head. Aroma is full of yogurty notes, with a touch of bugginess. Flavour is a yogurty lacto bomb, with lots of yogurt and little else. Is this supposed to be a wild beer? Apparently it is. Not impressive. --- Beer aliased from original tick of Wild Sour on 30 May 2019 at 07:43 - Score: Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 7. Original review text: On tap at Dandy, pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of lacto upfront, with tart fruits and yogurty notes. Flavour is quite bright, with lacto, some tart stone fruits, and biscuity malt. Dry and bright. Good stuff.
