Bottle pour at Barrel Fest 2025, pours a deep dark brown with a large beige head. Aroma has plenty of earthy coffee, big bourbon, and maybe a touch of brett infection. Flavour has lots of coffee, big bourbon, earthy malt, and awkwardly high carbonation hinting at a brett infection. Nice coffee and bourbon, but that high carb just doesn’t work here. Doesn’t seem properly calibrated.

Hazy and dull, with a fairly thick head. This has a big hoppy character, lots of yeast, like getting into Saison Dupont character. Dry, hoppy. Flavourful. Good stuff. Classic saison with a wild element to it.

500mL bottle. Pours murky blonde with a foamy white head. Tons of vibrant, rustic saison yeast on the nose. Flavour is also bright and rustic, some candied sugars, crisp malty base. Great carbonation. This is a really nice saison.

Bottle pour at Bottle Fest 2025. Pours black with a beige head. The coffee comes off very green peppery. Flavour has some gentle roast, a little coffee, and very little bourbon. Does not come together very well.

On tap at Blind Enthusiasm, pours a clear bright golden with a medium white head. Aroma has a nice woody character that melds with grassy hops, some spiciness, and crisp crackery malt. Flavour is more woody than pils-like, with some crisp crackery malt and decent grassy bitterness on the finish. The wood kind of takes away from the drinkability but it has solid structure.

On tap at Lore, pours a clear pale yellow with a small white head. Aroma is weak, with straw, maybe a touch of grass. Flavour is weak, with straw, biscuity malt, and barely a trace of hops. Clean but weak as hell. Boring.

On tap at Blind Enthusiasm. Pours clear gold with a white head. Crisp dry grass, peppery bite, and cracker malts on the nose. Flavour has crisp dry grass, peppery Saaz, cracker malts, and some woody dryness. The wood does detract from some of the qualities I like a Czech lager, but the beer as a whole comes together well.

Aroma: roasty, some little sweetness, a bit fruity.
Taste: along the same lines, no barrel ageing presence.
Overall: I now must ask - what was the point to make something like this? Useless beer.
