Had this at Wayward Brewing. Golden colour, thin head. Fresh golden, with a light fruitiness that reminds of pears and blackberries. Pretty good for its type.

375ml can into schooner glass. ABV is 6%. Well, this is it. The Six String beer everybody has told me to try. No pressure then.....Excellent nose, all grapefruit and cloves, maybe even a touch of cinnamon. It’s a murky red/brown beer with a two finger white creamy head that lasts. Medium body, hop bitterness everywhere. Finish is pine needles, aspirin and distant lemons. It’s good serious beer.

375ml can into glass. Great hop nose. Caramel coloured beer with solid white head. Light body, good piney hop finish. Excellent example of the style. As good as some much more well known APA’s.

From a 375ml can on 24/4/2015. Pours a deep dark reddy brown with a medium head which dissipates quickly. The aroma is very sweet, fragrant and fruity, with some candy and chocolate malt in the mix. Very flavoursome too, again a fair bit of dark malt and sweet fruit, set off against some big hops , which are quite sticky and resiny. Has a fullish body and average carbonation. Strikes me as a bit of a cross between a black IPA and an American strong ale. Really hoppy and very enjoyable. A pleasant surprise. Great to see more Aussie craft brewers producing gear with real character.

Pours amber with a small head.Nose shows toffee and sweet malt, cooked vegetables and meaty notes.Somewhat similar flavours but a bit cleaner. Still very sweet but none of the weird meaty notes.

Pours brown with a large off-white head.Nose shows caramel, soft bready malt, toffee, fruit confectionery, pear, nectarines.Very similar flavours, a heavy focus on the malt with a lot of sweetness but it’s countered by piny and resinous hops leading to an assertive bitterness.
