About
Jason Harris and Craig Basford decided they were going to do more than just brew the beers they’d been concocting in their man shed for years: they wanted to bring others along with them. So, more than a decade after they’d started making beer together in a rented farmer’s shed in the Barossa, when Big Shed Brewing Concern became a reality it came with an invitation to their peers: if you’re looking for somewhere to brew, we’ve got the space for you.

Can. Barely hazy amber with an inch of white head that never quite disappears. 3+ Aroma of mango, cooked pineapple, mandarin, light biscuit. Pretty sweet with lots of tropical fruit, moderate bitterness. For me it wanted more of a zesty top note and/or a drier and more bitter end. But it's pleasant enough.

Can. Muddy orange. Pineapple and passionfruit up the wazzoo. Doesn't quite hit the mark in that the beerness is lacking.

From a 330ml bottle on 28/10/2019. Pours a deep brown with a small head. Has a slightly tart fruity nose. Flavour wise, it's tangy and fruity, with some chocolate in then background, and a slightly sour finish. The body is thinnish and the carbonation average. I've have some really good Big Shed's but this just doesn't work for me on any level. I was expecting a dessert beer but this is a bit rough and lacking in balance.

From a 330ml bottle on 12/10/2019. Pours a clear dark amber with a big foamy head. Smells malty, with lots of caramel and toffee, with some stewed fruit kicking in. The flavour follows suit - a sweet malt bomb with caramel, toffee and dark and dried fruit, with a huge rye hop bitterness balancing things out. The mouthfeel is lovely - full, slick and almost creamy. The carbonation is moderate. Hides the alcohol really well. A phenomenal brew which I'll buy a whole lot more of if I can get hold of it.

From a 330ml bottle on 3/7/2019. Pours a deep cola colour with virtually no head. Has a strong milk chocolate with some light coffee. Tastes of milk chocolate, caramel, cocoa, vanilla, with touches of coffee and toffee. Finishes with a very gentle bitterness. Has a slick, slightly creamy texture and moderate carbonation. Wow, this is one sweet delight - not sure it's exactly like a Tim Tam slam, but it certainly has lots of chocolate biscuit about. Much better than I was expecting. A wonderful dessert stout.

Taster at GABS. Coffee nose, dark beer. Too much coffee for my tastes. No TimTam sweetness but I understand its meant to be a TimTam suck. Not my favourite at GABS.

On tap at Hopfest #13 at Alehouse Project. Pours milky orange. Malt and citrus nose with some esters. Almost caramel fruitiness. Certainly approachable

330ml bottle into schooner. Golden amber beer with thin white head. High fine carbonation, light fruit nose with a little background malt. Delicate and hoppy, very pleasant. Finish is bitter with lingering touches of musk sticks and lychees. Nice slammable beer. Still don't know what an XPA is.
