Description
Jason Harris and Craig Basford decided they were going to do more than just brew the beers they’d been concocting in their man shed for years: they wanted to bring others along with them. So, more than a decade after they’d started making beer together in a rented farmer’s shed in the Barossa, when Big Shed Brewing Concern became a reality it came with an invitation to their peers: if you’re looking for somewhere to brew, we’ve got the space for you.

375ml can. Hazy, yellow-ish, deep golden colour with average to huge, frothy, osteoporosing, minimally lacing, white head. Sweet-ish malty and citrusy fruity, slightly tropical fruity and piney, hoppy aroma, notes of orange, pineapple, rather unspecific fruitiness overall, minimally dusty, yeasty overtones. Taste is dry, citrusy fruity, slightly piney and minimally tropical fruity hoppy, rather neutral, malty background without residual sweetness, diluted notes of orange, some melon, pineapple; minimally mineral, chalky finish. Watery texture, dry palate, medium to macropore, prickly carbonation. Light, refreshing, quite watery, exhibits the old weakness of Session IPAs of running out of hop flavour in the finish - nice.

375ml can. Surprisingly dark, i.e. clear, dark amber colour with average, frothy, hlf-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Citrusy fruity and piney, hoppy aroma, caramel malty background, notes of lemon, grapefruit, some passion fruit, yellow stone fruit, overtones of burnt rubber and liquorice root. Taste is citrusy fruity, slightly tropical fruity and slightly piney hoppy, sweet-ish, caramel malty, slight jelly bear touch overall, hints of lemon, grapefruit, pineapple, some passion fruit, overtones of liquorice root.. Minimally syrupy, watery texture, dry palate, medium, prickly carbonation. Not really crisp, (juicy neither, of course), somehow sugar pillowed but too watery at the same time, includes the typical (not in the sense of 'ubiquitous' but 'exclusive') West Coast IPA feature of producing liquorice / burnt rubber effects due to hop concentration - average IPA overall.

Can. Clear gold with a white head that fades to a fair coat. Aroma of grain and hay with light spices. So it tastes. Leans towards the malty with decent body before modest but sufficient bitterness. Solid drop.

From a 375ml can on 22/6/2021. Pours a deep dark blueberry blue with a small head. Never had a blue beer before, that's for sure! Has a massive blueberry nose. Tastes of sweet ripe blueberries with a very mild tart finish. The mouthfeel is slick and a touch creamy, the carbonation moderate. Not overly complex, but it's a blueberry dominated experience in every respect, and genuinely very enjoyable.
