From a 355ml can on 22/2/2019. Pours a clear medium golden with a smallish head. Has a fairly distinct sharp citrus nose. The flavour basically follows suit - lots of sweet citrus, along with lemon, grapefruit and a touch of pine in the tart, almost sour finsh. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Interesting enough if not necessarily a real winner.

Can. Cloudy deep gold/amber. Funk on nose. Surprisingly full-bodied sour and more impressive for it. Not super pucker, with more hops than pure fruit flavour. Quirky.

It's not surprising to see the CoConspirators go for a serious, full-on sour. You can definitely taste the original Matriarch in this beer. I smell a fair bit of passionfruit, mango and lemon, and that lemon is very prominent on tasting, perhaps slightly overwhelming the other NEIPA aspects.

Can. Gold with a cm of white head. Assertive aroma of citrus, under-ripe tropical fruit and herbs, some crackers lurk behind. There's grapefruit and herbal lemon notes - wouldn't have guessed a grapefruit addition. But I would from the taste - it has a smooth juiciness that complements the bitter notes rather than amplifies them. Clever, nice. --- Beer merged from original tick of The Middleman Grapefruit IPA on 08 Jan 2019 at 12:36 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 8. Can. An unclear golden beer with a lazing yellowish head. The aroma has notes of exotic fruits, malt, and hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of exotic fruits, hops, straw, and malt, leading to a bitter finish.

'Can. Opaque yellowish orange with a white head. Smells like a Passiona spider - tropical fruit, lactose, some citrus. All additions but it does smell good. And then it''s smooth but with a very decent sour kick. The passionfruit is properly punchy. Aside from a bit of tangy wheat and moderate tropical-tinged bitterness there''s not a lot that''s beerish but it is very tasty and nicely balanced. Clever stuff, well executed. Good summer drink.' --- Beer merged from original tick of The Editor on 19 Dec 2018 at 12:36 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 8. Original review text: 'Can. From a 355ml can on 8/12/2018. Pours a clearish lightish golden with a small head. Has a grassy and quite citrussy nose. Taste wise, there's a pretty big biscuity and bready malt backbone, a good dash of sweet orange, and some pretty assertive, piney, resiny, dry hops. medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Nicely balanced, punchy and really well put together. An excellent IPA.

'Can. Between gold and amber. Clear with a white head that settles to a cm. 3+ Aroma of pine, breadcrust, honeydew melon, kumquat peel. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation. Very clean. Sweet breadcrust, resinous pine buzzes in early. There''s more pine and spice than fruit, then a dry and fairly bitter finish. Good.' --- Beer merged from original tick of The Henchman on 16 Nov 2018 at 12:36 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 8 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 8. Original review text: 'Can. Shaker on tap at Club Rivers, Riverwood. Pale amber beer with a thin white head. Solid lacing. Slight haze, medium carbonation. Sweet nose with malt, bread, tropical fruit. Good body, smooth texture. Taste and finish are bitter, fruity, and cashew sweet. Not as dry and grainy as I thought it would be but very very nice.
