Can. Very cloudy orange with a 1/2cm white head. Slightly shy aroma of melon, some tropical fruit, lime - appropriately floaty. Light bodied. Soft but not vague bready malt but pretty dry with a lazy drift of fruity hops - albeit with a little citrusy edge to give it structure - before a moderately bitter finish. Subtle and very good.

From a 440ml can on 6/8/2023. Pours a hazy deep golden with smallish head. The nose is dank, with lots of ripe fruit and some herbal notes. The taste features sweet tropical and stone fruit and some white grape that you'd expect from the Nelson Sauvin, along with a spiciness, with perhaps just the teeniest hint of hop burn. Has a firmish spicy bitterness at the back. Silky mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. Bold, solid and enjoyable.

Can. Amber, just unclear.. A good inch of near white head that's soon a coat or less. Shyish grapefruit, breadcrust and pine aroma. Better defined in the taste. Dryish and resin meets tropical fruit and breadcrust with citrus sharpening things. Only medium-high bitterness in the West Coast IPA revival way.

From a 440ml can on 20/7/2023. Pours a deep dark brown with not much in the way of head. Has a a light choc and peanut butter aroma. The taste is very pastry-like with lots of rich chocolate and cakey notes, with the peanut butter aspect much stronger than evident from the nose. Fullish body with moderate carbonation. Not quite a match for their imperial peanut butter stout (probably my all-time Deeds fave) but truly excellent none the less.

From a 440ml can on 28/6/2023. Pours a clear deep amber with a smallish head. Smells typically Belgian, yeasty, malty with caramel and dried fruit. Medium sweet on the sip, with more caramel and dried fruit (raisins dates). I'd be lying if I said I could detect the Adzuki Beans or Kinako as I don't know what they are, but there's definitely a nuttiness that's referenced on the can. Finishes with a light fruity bitterness. The palate is slick, the carbonation moderate. Really well done. Nicely balanced, tasty and true to style, even with the Japanese twist. And the can art and concept is superb.

From a 440ml can on 15/6/2023. Pours a cloudy orange with the barest of heads. Has a quite pleasant tropical and stone fruit nose, with passionfruit, mango, banana and a good dash of apricot. Despite being not cited in the additions, apricot is probably the strongest flavour of the sip, with a little mango and a hint of banana. I don't really get the coconut or vanilla though. It's moderately tart at the back. Has a thick, creamy mouthfeel with slightly prickly carbonation. This is reasonably enjoyable but it's a bit of a stretch to describe it as a pastry beer, as the sweetness is just moderate. I've had quite a few yank and Scandinavian brews in this style that knock it out of the park, but Oz brewers are currently struggling to really nail it.

Can. Clear brown with a pale beige head. Aroma of yeasty dough, dried and stewed fruit. Maybe a little green nuttiness but nothing obviously unusual. Full bodied. Fairly sweet but with firm balancing bitterness. Some stewed and more dried fruit, hints of nuts and salt. I like that it feels big without overt alcohol or excessive sweetness and that the bitterness is quite bold.

Can. Almost black with a large loosish tan head. Aroma of roast, brioche, mocha, singed sugars. Dryish and very clean with pointed roasty notes, some singed sugars and hard spices. Drinkable & very much in the Foreign/ Tropical zone.
