Bottle. Clear pale gold with a white head that settles to a good coat. High bead. Aroma of old lemons, sourdough. Light, slippery texture. Gently sour with husky grains, old lemons. Refreshing, elegant (except for the wax and the neck tag). Hoped it would be a bit sharper.

[backlog] 18-05-15 // bottle in Fremantle, Austrlai. Last beer in Australia. Cloudy orange. Very fruity, lots of banana. But somehow strange weizen, not as a typical german. Good carbonation.

Pours a clear deep golden with a medium head which dissipates relatively quickly. Has a delightful floral, fruity aroma featuring apricot, peach, lychee, melon, passionfruit and lollies. Take a sip and you get some light caramel malt followed by an explosion of sweet stone, tropical and citrus fruit, particularly apricot, peach, mango and pear. This is definitely on the sweet side for an IPA but you still get a big dose of resiny hops at the end which keep things well and truly in check. The body is medium to full and the carbonation a touch above medium. Damn this is good - not really a typical West Coast IPA as the blurb suggests, but displays great balance and character, and could almost pass for a DIPA. A wonderful, distinctive brew, which makes me proud to be an Aussie. Please Mash, don’t make this a once off! Rating 4.2.

Re-rate 19/12/2015. Still very nice, but not quite as good the second time round.

Thanx Addie for the bottle.
This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a nice hazy paled orange color with a film of a quarter fingered white foamy head that dissipated within less than a minute. There was some light speckled stringy lacing here and there.
The smell had a generous amount of a tropical fruitiness with a decent complimentary apricot coming about in the aroma.
The taste was moderately sweet and resinously bitter, sour? Maybe...but acceptable at least to me.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a decent but also somewhat smooth harshness (does that make sense to IPA drinkers?) Hmmm...okay, maybe to me. There’s nothing wrong with what these guys do.
Overall, okay, I think this is my first IPA from the country/continent of Australia. Good job! I’d have it again.

Aroma of grapefruit, boiled lollies, mint pine needles. Honey and loads of citrus in the mouth. Great palate. I’m not sure what combination of hops they’ve used but they’re really fresh and clean. Fantastic.

Bottle, 10C. Clear amber with a white head. Aroma of passionfruit, lychees, pine, kumquats, slightly toasty caramel. Oily. Sweet caramel and tropical fruit, resin, a little pepper, firm bitterness where it dries out a fair bit at the end. A bit too sweet but a very harmonious beer.

Pours copper with a fading head.Nose shows caramel, toasty malt, nutty hints, melanoidin characters. Also some spicy hops.Flavours are not as rich, mainly nutty and toasty malt. Needs some sweet crystal malt or something to round things out. Some floral and spicy hops present.Watery body, carbonation too high.A little rough around the edges but none too shabby.

Bottle. Dark amber with a small beige head. Aroma of chocolate, toffee, flowers, grapefruit. Rather thin, fairly high carbonation. Tastes as it smells - quite chocolatey, not that sweet with grapefruit and orange-blossoms. Dryish finish with moderate bitterness; aromatic citrus lingers awhile. Pleasant enough but lacks the character of some of their other beers.

Hazy blond-tan, thin white head. Aroma is light, with hints of smoke. Soft and oily palate, with gentle smoke. The malt balance is a bit sticky and maybe even plasticy.

Bottle. Hazy rose gold with a white head that settles to a cm. Aroma is fruity, woody and spicy - pears, lemon, doughy hints, grapes. Very light-bodied. Fruity but dry with little bitterness. Woody and peppery at the end. Oddball, very refreshing.
