Description
Some people say we make the best craft beer in Saigon, Vietnam. Enter the Darkness and decide for yourself... Heart of Darkness is all about duality. Good and evil. Sane and insane. Big, bold, crafted brews that will challenge the way you think about beer. Thirst quenching, session beers that will have you bouncing off the walls. Hop bombs that will give you a kick-to-the-teeth, while still being still balanced and smashable. Whatever your taste, we’ve got it…. Our family, the “Dark Army” is an eclectic mix of weirdos from all walks of life. So… we’ve handcrafted a bunch of beers to pair with our varying passions - from frisbee golf to music festivals, from overindulgent eating with good friends to surfing and hiking… It's a craft beer journey into unchartered territory... #enterthedarkness

Can at home. Not sure where I got from. Golden pour and clear texture, frothy white head. Nose is cucumber and crackery. Tastes the same perhaps some florals as well. Tingly palate.

Draft at Taps Beer Bar, Changkat, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a clear medium amber colour with a mostly lasting frothy white head. The aroma is herbal, woody hops. The flavour is over moderate bitter, with a crisp, fresh, earthy, woody hop bitter palate and a long bitter finish. Over medium bodied with average carbonation.

Penang > Singapore rail excursion: a small bottle from Antarabangsa off-licence, Georgetown, drunk in the hotel just down the road. Aroma: only lightly aromatic, roasted, some coffee. Appearance: opaque cola, negligible head. Palate: medium-bodied and slick, carbonation is unexpectedly fizzy, the finish is rather abrupt. Taste: well-roasted with some sweet notes; not very chocolatey but some coffee flavour comes through. This one leaves no lasting impression and is rather lacking in character.

Penang > Singapore rail excursion: a small bottle from Antarabangsa off-licence, Georgetown, drunk in the hotel just down the road. Aroma: very interesting, liquorice meets malt loaf. Appearance: opaque cola, negligible head. Palate: full-bodied and oily on the tongue, soft carbonation, finishes long and nicely warming. Taste: well-roasted with sweet notes; marzipan, dark chocolate, sherry. This is rocket fuel, complex and very satisfying.

500ml can from Heart of Darkness HCMC taproom and shared in Kuala Lumpur. Poured a hazy yellow golden colour with a mostly lasting thin white head. The aroma is herbal, light yuzu. The flavour is herbal and light bitter, with a smooth, fresh, juicy yuzu, dry yeasty palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. I’ve never been a yuzu fan but I must say it’s growing on me, especially when the taste is subtle.
