Bottle from the liquor store by Kamakura station. Rich malty aroma, sweetened miso paste, toffee. Very cloudy gold-copper. Sweet malts, caramel, yet with clean fruitiness, like peaches. Ok. Nice malt, nothing off, dirty, rather bitter finish. Tastes fine, decent malts, though lacks direction. Ok.

Bottle, mail order from the brewery. Fruity, caramel aroma, cherry, cookies. Dark brown, very cloudy, with lace. Decently rich caramel mlt flavor with brownies, fruit, and a tingly hop bitterness. Nice body, though a bit too much carbonation. Slight cola flavor as well. Pretty strong, long-lasting bitterness for the style, coming from hops, it seems. Not very roaasted, though a bit smoky. Decent fruitiness, just a Bit tart. Nice dunkel, with good hops giving some pine and quite a bit of menthol, which was evidently intended to give it a mint-chocolate flavor, which it has. A bit weird, but a pretty good, hoppy dunkel. 2011 version. From reading, it seems different to last year’s.

Caramel in color with a tan head. Heavy on the malt aroma. Light caramel, some chocolate, and roasted malts. THin, carbonated body. Flavor seems like a roasted dunkel. Malts, caramel, roasted malts, light chocolate. Dry finish. Mediocre.

Bottle. Rich malt aroma—well-roasted, milky, and dry with wood and smoke. Pitch black with a frothy tan head. Well-roasted flavor, chocolate sweetness. Reasonably rich; slightly woody and smoky. Also shows a touch of dark fruit. Refreshing, though slightly too sweet and creamy.

Bottled. Light copper color, medium, foamy head. Malty, fruity, and spicy aroma, with citrus, caramel. Light, fruity flavor, lots of caramel. Some citrus. Gets decently hoppy and biter at the end, but not much for aroma hops. Tasty enough, but not really memorable. Rather bland. A fruity, rather sweet English pale ale that is reasonably well balanced and tasty, but not very memorable.

Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a decent white head that dissapears quickly. Aroma is malt, light citrus hops, fruit, and a touch of alcohol. Flavor is muted. Fruit, malt, and some hops. Medium, creamy body. Solid, but nothing exceptional.
