Bottle at the Dog Step, Bangkok. Poured almost black with a short-lived frothy off white head. The aroma is roasty malt, dry coffee, aniseed, liqourice, chocolate. The flavour is moderate sweet, light liquorice bitter with a smooth, rich, oily, sweet malt, liqouice palate and an oily liqouice finish. Medium to full bodied with flat carbonation. A superb beer. Well worth the wait. More like a sweet stout to me but it the brewers think it’s a Porter I’ll live with that.

Many thanks to Koelschtrinker for bringing this bottle back from Thailand. Malty and round smooth beginning. The hops are floral but not too intense, nice chocolate creamy body. Soft and highly drinkable with a nice floral bitterness. The coffee-beens are there, not too intense but nice and round. Round and smooth, floral piney in the aftertaste, round and creamy. A bit like a dry-hopped foreign stout - but nevertheless nice.

Sehr malziger, intensiv kaffeeartiger Antrunk. 12/10/12/12/10/12
