Poured into a mug (yes, winning, perfect glassware for an Irish dry stout).
The appearance was a dark brown close to black color with a creamy/light tan head. Sly lacing.
The aroma starts with some dry roasty coffee bean, sly roasty cocoa bean. Subtle vanilla underneath.
The flavor brings it all together gently. Roastiness first. Subtle sweetness from blend of vanilla to cocoa bean, but then some bitterness.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a decent sessionability about it. Medium carbonation.
Overall, good Irish dry stout that I would have again.

This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a burnt orange color. Slim bar pour’s kind of head. Mild stringy lacing.
The aroma leans to the sweet side of citrus, grassiness and mild oats. Light citrus rind bitterness comes in for the balance.
The flavor was sweet through the previously mentioned aromas. Bitterness seems to try and balance but it definitely leans sweet. Smooth semi-sweet hops and malts aftertaste. Smooth sweet finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body. Fine sessionability. Low enough carbonation creates appropriate smoothness along with the oats.
Overall, well done smooth and sweet APA, probably could have just a touch of bitterness to come back to level it out but still worthy to have again.

Cloudy yellow. 1 finger head. Smells good. Very bright aroma good mouthfeel. Sweet with a juicy citrus bitterness. Lemon and watermelon finish.

Very cloudy pale orange. Light aroma. A little orange and lemon with pine. Very light beer I every way. Flavor, mouthfeel and finish. Has what I’d call this really bland malt taste once the initial bitterness ends.

This was poured into a nonic pint glass.
The appearance was a muddy brown color with a slim bar pour’s kind of head that settles out within reason around the glass. So I’m expecting little lacing and little lacing did occur.
The smell had a nice malty side of the rye combining subtly with the spicy side. Slight fruity malts almost English-esque absorb some of the spicy character to even make it less as it warms.
The taste was malty, spicy and fruity sweet taking on a nice complex persona and running into a semi-sweet to spicy aftertaste reminiscent of an English IPA. Light sweet to spicy character in the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a decent sessionability about it. Carbonation seems to run nice on the feel allowing the malts to cling and the spice to sharpen but both combine and feel nice.
Overall, I’d say this was a pretty nice rye IPA. I see what Whetstone did and I like it.

Draft at the brewery bar. Pours mostly clear deep brown with a creamy khaki head. The nose has a bit of soap, subtle roast, orange rind. Medium sweet flavor with more mellow roasted malts, bitter earth, rindy citrus, some orange, burnt leaves. Medium bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Finishes with further rindy citrus, toasty malts, a by of pine and earth. Not bad overall.

Keg at the brewery taproom. Pours rich black-brown with a creamy tan head. Nice roasted malt nose, cocoa, smoked malts, hints of burnt bacon. Medium sweet flavor with sticky burnt sugars, bacon bits, bittersweet chocolate. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Finishes sweet with some burnt malts, brown sugar, some smoked meat, char, baking cocoa. Not bad overall, but a touch too sugary at times.
