Description
We are a brewery in Tunbridge, Vt. We focus on hop forward, stout, and farmhouse ales. We brew on a 5 bbl system and do big contracted batches at Von Trapp.
We operate a small brewery in the hills of Tunbridge, Vermont with a tasting room in South Royalton. The Tasting Room for Upper Pass Beer Company is located on the green inside First Branch Coffee Shop.
Closed the South Royalton taproom during the Covid-19 Pandemic. After Simple Roots' closure at the end of 2025, moved in to their space and are aiming to re-open the taproom there by February, as well as purchasing an adjacent building to expand operations.

Can to snifter.
Appearance: orange to copper color with a finger and a quarter's worth of white foamy head which slid off nicely to leave some light lace.
Aroma: apricot-like, strawberry & melon-like hoppiness; clean cracker malts
Flavor: blends the prior mentioned aromas together bittersweetly, semi-juicy, mild aftertaste of the apricot to strawberry hoppiness
Texture: medium bodied, leaning towards the sipping side, lenient hop stroll on the tongue, finishes fairly dry and semi-juicy with the strawberry/melon hoppiness
Overall: IMO, might not be one of those NE styles but I believe this "semi" old schooled style of DIPA still has what it takes to be on the market these days

Can to becher.
Appearance: glossy burnt yellow with some transparency to it. Two finger white foamy head slid off at a nice pace to leave some light messy lace
Aroma: light grassy to herbal hoppiness, some grains, light sweet malts
Flavor: mildly blends the prior noted aromas together somewhat sweetly with a touch of zest and a touch of oiliness; quick aftertaste of oiliness and grassy hops
Texture: light bodied, somewhat sessionable; oily slick on my tongue; finishes slick and grassy
Overall: another one of these Italian pilseners but I must mention I believe the dry hopping helped prevent some of the slickness I normally find in this style to have been slowed down a bit, that was a plus!

Appearance: thick orange cardboard haziness; two finger white foamy head which slid off nicely to leave some light lace

Flavor: bittersweet juicy to resiny blend of hops rolling over the malts very nicely; mild aftertaste of resin and white grapes
Texture: medium bodied, good sipper; nice low carb, very smooth along tongue; finishes semi-juicy with a sly danky grip
Overall: a very nicely done NEIPA very worthy of returning to.

Appearance: burnt amber color with a two and a half fingers of white foamy head which slid off nicely and left some light lace
Aroma: light tangerine/peachy and grassy to piney hop tones; caramel/toffee malts used in this? Yes, I believe so
Flavor: blends the prior mentioned aromas together bittersweet; lends a hand to a mild aftertaste of tangerine/peachiness with caramel/toffee malts
Texture: light to medium bodied, somewhat sessionable; light hop abrasion but nothing overbearing; finishes quaint and crisp with the hops
Overall: not a bad APA in the old school sort of style, I'd still have again for me.

Appearance: murky orange haziness; one finger white foamy head which slid off at a nice pace; some light lace
Aroma: orangey/floral to sweet grassy hoppiness; light crackery malts
Flavor: bittersweet juicy quality from the prior mentioned aromas; mild aftertaste of orange and floral hop character
Texture: medium bodied, sessionable, fairly watery along my tongue; finishes slick with overly sweetened oranges
Overall: the aroma was the best thing about this beer but man, I'm not sure where Upper Pass went wrong with this one. I had this several times and now I'm left wondering - seriously? Eh, whatever, I'm moving on.

Appearance: dark brown/maroon color with a finger and a quarter of eggshell white foamy head which slid off nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: earthy to bisuity malts; toasted nuts, maple syrup - pretty light; nice dark bready tone coming about
Flavor: between sweet and toasty - mostly pretty balanced; slight aftertaste of toasted nuts and earthiness
Texture: medium bodied, good sipper; earthy grip makes some abrasion on my tongue but nothing overbearing; finishes dark bready and maple syrup-like
Overall: I guess this is Upper Pass's take on a doppelbock, as far as I know it works and I very much look forward to having again.
