500 ml bottle from VFM in Ogunquit, 8/16/16. Murky golden pour with a fizzy, foamy head and some spotty lacework. Clove, wheat, and other spices. Grainy. Lemon notes. A bit sweet and wheaty, lots of clove, finishes spice forward and just a touch tart. Ligther bodied and easy drinking with a somewhat fizzy close. A decent, spice-forward example of the style.

500 ml bottle purchased at Kittery, 7 Eleven. (Bottle sat in my fridge at least 3 months) Thin tan head that retained in the snifter. Aroma has a lasting oak and bourbon character.

The flavor almost matched the aroma. Flavor wise the oak and bourbon has a decent presence and it shows a low chocolate malt base. The only aspect that is a negative is the thin body. It is missing the full, chewy, creamy texture I love in the style. If the body was improved with more grain or perhaps, oats, this Brewer would have something special here.
