Description
I’m a one-man, small batch brewery, now (post-Covid/Brexit/Truss/Ukraine) producing just two casks each brewday which go to beer festivals and pubs mostly in Colchester and north Essex. I’ve been brewing commercially since 2016. I brew a lot of different beers rather than having a small range of regular beers.

I brew using top quality, fresh, ingredients, and don’t use pumps or chemicals or finings. I have been producing vegan-friendly beers for a couple of years now.

Ceased commercial brewing late 2025 and reverted to being a home brewer in 2026.

330ml bottle [courtesy of Grumbo - cheers Graham!]. Quasi black colour with average, frothy, collapsing, beige to tan head. Chocoöately and roasty, dark malty aroma, hints of dark chocolate and couverture, a touch of milk sugar, coffee overtones, a minimally waxy touch (waxy egg white). Taste is sweet-ish, chocolately dark malty, notes of coffee, hints of dark chocolate, a touch of milk sugar. Minimally watery texture, fizzy carbonation. Nice coffee flavours, sadly way overcarbonated.

Cask at Colchester Beer Festival. Dark brown with a loose beige head. Light roast, chocolate, lots of raisins, malt loaf. Yum! Rich, indulgent & downright lovely - beer of the fest for me.

Gushy fucker! A third of the bottle gone and 5 mins of clearing up! Grr! Hazy amber, big cream colour head. Airy palate, semi dry, unsurprisingly 'good' fine carbonation. Tangy rich malts, traces of tangy toffee, mild creamy sweetness. Tangy fruits in there. Airy finish. A bit on the tangy side, maybe the infection, but the rich malts are fairly satisfying. A real mixed bag.
