Almost clear deep amber - brown beer, good pale tan head. Palate is light, dry and fairly crisp. Thin and tangy dark malts. Touch of dark fruits. Spicy piney hops on top. Decent without ever being exciting.

Tap at Lentebierfestival. Deep roasted malts, coffee, dark chocolate. Medium sweet, light bitter. Over medium body, soft creamy feel. Minerallike finish. Quite nice!Earlier Rating: 3/1/2016 Total Score: 3.6Bottle at home (from ABC Beers). Dark brown with light tan head. Roasted chocolate malts, brown sugar, licorice. Medium sweet, medium bitter. Medium body, bit fatty/oily texture, sharp carbonation. Dry bitter burnt finish. Roasted flavor and sugary sweetness are stronger represented than the hoppiness, which makes this a heavy drink. Makes for a pretty good hoppy stout with spikey carbo, but a difficult black IPA. //// 20 minutes later finishing the last quarter of the bottle, its warmed up a little and way oatmealier and even more stoutlike. Very nice, don’t drink too cold!

sample from tap at #bfgm16, Bierfestival Groningen ’16, shared with @Zlotta. black with a read hue and a fine tan head. aroma of coffee, chocolate and roasted malts. Taste is quite sweet, weak bitterness, a bit this, coffee, malty character, however is this a black ipa ???? where are the hops, and where is the laurel... more like a weak roasted coffee stout with a dry aftertaste.

Sampled from tap at Bierfestival Groningen 2016. Clear, very dark red to black with a tan head. Sweetish, just slightly fruity-resiny aroma of dark chocolate, some coffee, dark ripe fruits and hints of pine. Sweetish-malty, slightly fruity-resiny taste of dark chocolate, some coffee, blackberries, raisins and caramel, followed by a short, moderately bitter, slightly resiny finish. Medium body, slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Okay, not really a Black IPA though.
